BCRANG! BuhCRANG!
Shots rang out as roof tiles went flying through the air. Denizens of Radiant Garden looked from their laundry, their toys, their studies, and their work. Gasps came from the throats of many as the sky turned a dark and horrifying hue, and a dangerous red fog shot down from the sky. Lightning blazed across that fast fading sky, and screams could be heard from afar.
Mothers rushed their children inside, warriors took to their swords, and teenagers once lazed about ran at an alarming pace for other parts.
The mist itself rose up beyond all ankles, obscuring the view of the macad--
Strange.
The mist-- it seemed to be collaborating within itself, building up, and forming a far more material being.
And that being was a harsh, dark red shpere... bore yellow eyes as dark and foul as a bad banana... floated off of the ground... and was armed with two limbs, finely equipped with strong claws at the end of each of the three fingers.
More shots rang out in the distance. Hesitant eyes met the sight of these creatures digging into the tiles and making a vast spray of the brown clay flying high into the air and down on innocent victims.
Chimneys came falling down.
House walls had massive holes torn into them.
The smell of smoke foretold a fire not too many houses away.
This is massive destruction, and the birth of chaos on Radiant Garden.
Prevent it if you can.

She had never run so fast in her entire life. Her heart was pounding so hard that she could feel her pulse throbbing throughout her body, carrying an extremely high dose of adrenaline. Jillian's senses were sharp, steps lithe, and fears high.
Her siblings should all be home by now. Her mother, she wasn't so sure about. If she wasn't home, she could be anywhere. Jillian prayed she was home and not out looking for her. She could take care of herself no problem. Whether her mom believed that to be true, Jillian didn't know that either.
Jillian dodged the flying debris, while somehow managing to avoid the swarm of people, running every which way in the mass panic. She smelled the smoke, and saw the gaping holes in the houses she passed as she continued running, praying, just praying, that her house had not been victimized yet.
What was this mist? She stopped in her tracks, almost falling over from the abruptness of it. She ripped Igliel from it's chain, extending it as rapidly as possible to hit a rather large shingle that a panic stricken child was inadvertently running towards. The shingle shattered, raining down pebbles.
With the child now a little safer than it was before, she continued running, keeping Igliel out, ready to use it in a moment's notice.

Suddenly, the odd creatures that had attacked noticed Jillian. Three of them detached from what they were doing to fly towards her, malevolence radiating from their odd eyes in almost tangible waves. The clawed, three fingered hands extended outwards, obviously seeking to draw blood. Human blood.
Jillian's blood.
Another two began to snipe at her from afar, throwing shingles like missiles at her with the thin arms.

The shingles were pretty easy to dodge, but having to dodge the claws at the same time did make things a bit more complicated. Nothing she couldn't handle, so far anyways. She moved back and forth, never staying put for very long. Now what could she do for counterattacking? She didn't have much time to think. Their arms looked frail enough, but looking at all the damage they did made her reconsider. But it could have been their claws. Loosening the shingles was probably an easy feat with those suckers.
Ok, don't let the claws touch her. That could be done. Probably...
Jillian raised Igliel suddenly, and forcefully brought it down towards the body of one of the creatures. The one closest to her left, to be specific. She then swung Igliel to the right, hoping to hit the creature next to the one she had already attempted to hit.

Out of all the commotion going on, another person entered into the field.
Rinau had just gone on break from his job, when everything started going crazy. mist had fallen everywhere, and then started forming into some kind of giant monster!
The second this had started, the young moogle had sprinted to his house, and grabbed his weapons. Running back to the site of the attacks, he noticed quickly that he wasn't the only one planning on fighting back: some girl had grabbed a staff and was fighting back too.
Moving quietly, he got behind the things to where he was facing her, and drew moved forwards.
"Hey, it looks like you could use some help, huh?" Rinau said this as he lunged forward with a downward strike from his Shadow Blade, trying to catch one of the things off guard.

The staff slammed into one of them, knocking it back. It seemed almost dazed for a second, hovering in the air for a few brief seconds before returning to the assault by flying back. The second strike did the same thing for the other one that White hit, and the two on the roof increased the rate of fire with the shingles.
The third one was struck by Rinau's attack, but wasn't knocked back nearly so much, and slashed at the moogle with its claws rapidly. Unfortunately for him, a moogle was much, much smaller than a human, and those claws could be very nasty.

"That would be much appreciated." She said, acknowledging the moogle.
The ones she hit looked stunned, that was good, right? Momentarily, but still, that meant her hits were doing what they were supposed to be doing. Maybe this wouldn't be so difficult. But she dare not let her guard down yet, not when none of the creatures had fallen to her staff yet.
Jillian yelped, almost falling over as she awkwardly hopped sideways to avoid a shingle. Did they just get faster? Crap. Well, at least she had some help now. It did ease the pressure somewhat. She raised her staff again and swung at one of the creatures she had hit previously, trying to knock it into the other.

Rinau jumped backwards, shouting "Whoa, whoa, I'm not on the menu, kupo!" at the creature trying to cut him up like a steak.
Pulling up his shield, he let the creature's slashes simply slam into it. When the thing stopped, he'd come back with a flurry of slashes himself.

[ White, don't forget to add a link to your Char Chain in your sig! We'll go ahead and move forward for now, though. ^^ ]
ENEMIES REMAINING: 4
Jillian's staff whipped through the air quickly, it's Ice Aura chilling the air with the swash of the weapon. It smacked into the speeding enemy hard, like hitting clay that's been left out too long in the sun. A lo--
BANG!
A huge sound erupted from the creature as Igliel suddenly surged through the diminutive enemy, breaching it's smooth, hard skin. And, in the same second, the creature dissipated.
The creature's skin shifted. It twisted at lightning-fast speed like a Rubik's cube, curving off and into itself, breaking it's very being up and back into the misty dust that gave it birth in the first place.
And, for all appearances could tell, a small spat of wind carried the floating mist skyward, for the great and titanic storm that loomed over Radiant Garden.
...
...
..you know, in retrospect, the sound was probably more surprising than loud. Certainly disorienting. Quite a shocker, actually!
Almost made you forget about the other four ankle biters, huh?
Whoosh went the air around one of the floating red spheres, as the two dangerous and thin arms launched out ahead of the speeding enemy for Jillian's leg. It was going for a broad slash, perhaps hoping Jillian had been distracted by the other enemy's death?
Doubt it. Looks like a regular beast, just going for an opening. Probably isn't thinking much. Speaking of beasts, there goes the other one through the air, for Rinau's raised shield. It slashed hard and away at it, a good three or four hefty blows, before Rinau gave it a good few quick whacks himself!
Ah, but the creature didn't seem to be one to stop just yet. It surged forward, practically ramming into the shield. Fighting an enemy that can fly and float as well as you is a hard fight.
[ *flips a coin* ]
THOK went a heavy shingle as it slammed into Jillian's right shoulder. It was not a glancing blow-- the thing was aiming pretty well. It's companion, also on the roof, reached down for the shrinking number of projectiles on the roof.
Before long, they'd come down and join the fight at ground level.
--
People were still panicking, with the air fraught with the fright caused by the enemies raining down on them, destroying homes and lives alike. The sky was growing red-dark from the gathering storm, and the ground remained a misty field of impassive red dust. The ground was still far from visible. If this huge mess continued...
...what would become of Radiant Garden?

It was that simple to kill them? Two blows? Frickin sweet! She laughed to herself, her morale boosted incredibly at the surprise victory. Hopefully it wouldn't be too long before she could help out Rinau. He seemed to be having more trouble than she had.
"YA!" She yelled, suddenly, noticing one of the creatures tried to grab for her leg. She had brought it up and swung it around to land a nice kick to the thing.
Jillian yelped once the shingle came in contact with her shoulder, cutting her shirt as well as into her skin. And she was a righty too. Shouldn't have gotten too cocky earlier. She shrugged her shoulders, flinching at first, but soon was able move without too much trouble. It still hurt though... Her hits might not be as strong now, because of her carelessness. At least she still had one good arm and two good legs. It would take more than that to get her down and keep her there.

((3 rounds after this, Rinau will fall. If he's not active.)) Enemies Remaining: 3 The kick impacted the creature with a large THUD. Then, just like the other, it exploded with a loud noise and burst into the reddish mist, drifting back upwards into the sky. The reddish storm clouds up in the sky seemed to crackle with lightning, almost... angrily? Either way, that was another enemy down... and what was this? The other enemies had finally run out of shingles and, like they were coordinated, burst into flames, shooting forwards at Jillian, trailing sparks behind them. Those fires looked HOT, and in the middle of it, all that could be seen of the beasts were the eyes... ...the baleful yellow eyes, filled with malice...

Another down. Good. She needed to relax, gather her thoughts. The battle wasn't near over yet. And the way the sky was changing and crackling certainly did not bode well for her, or Rinau.
Another plus was that the shingle wielding monsters had run out of ammo. Instead they decided to charge her, covered in fire. Why did it have to be fire? The others hadn't been covered in fire. Maybe there was a way for her to stall it? Even for a moment, that's all she needed. Jillian held out her hand and yelled, "Ice Arrow!" She grasped it out of midair and threw it towards one of the evil yellow eyes.
Afterwards, she jumped to the right, swinging Igliel like a bat again, hoping to hit one of the monsters in the back before they could turn and swipe at her.

Rinau watched as Jillian took down one of the creatures, and got ready to ascend to fight the creatures that had been throwing roof shingles.
Running a hand along his blade, a current of electricity began to flow through it, and he ran forward behind Jillian's Ice Arrow.
Then, as it went for one of the creatures, he split off, and attacked a different one, a trail of sparks flowing behind his blade.

((Heh heh heh. Tell me, did both of you forget the enemy that Rinau was fighting before the two descended? ^^)) The Ice Arrow, unfortunately, melted before it could make contact with the reddish-brown skin underneath the roaring flames. The two creatures adjusted their aim as White moved, tracking her. It seemed they weren't restricted to firing straight forwards when they did this, just turning slowly. (Average Ability.) However, overlooking something else would cause White to fall. Literally. As Rinau broke away, the enemy he had been fighting shot at White from behind, at a low level. It's arms were held out wide, and if it hit, she would basically be tripped backwards. The timing of this attack was such that the fireballs and the creature would hit around the same time. Rinau's strike, on the other hand, struck true, the blade reaching past the fireballs. That stalled that creature as the electricity flowed through it, and the flames flickered out as it retailed with several punches and slashes. [hp=4/8] [hp=5/8] [hp=8/8]

((I didn't. D: )) Damn, that wasn't good. Her ice wasn't going to be any use for that. She started thinking about other options when she suddenly began to fall backwards.
CRAP! She scrambled furiously, trying to regain her balance, but it was no use. Jillian tried to make it so she could make the fall into some sort of attack, but it just turned out to be an awkward flail.
On the ground she noticed a fireball was now heading towards her. She could roll, or... That creature that tripped her was right in it's path...? Jillian pulled her leg back and kicked the creature right towards the fireball, to hopefully ensure a collision. After that she rolled to the left and got back on her feet, whirling to face her opponents.
