Kind of abandoned this thread? It can give a lot of insight if used right. Everyone will have to wait and see. I was once a dashing lad with no comparison. And at another time, the most malevolent entity in existence. I wonder which one I feel more inclined to?

Not sure if I'm waaaay too late to this one, but I'll probably be sticking with good with at least one character. o.o Purely for the sake of there being a world to continue sitting on... until I can escape at least. [avatar]http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/1562/eleanoravatar.png[/avatar]

Looking back in hindsight, I'm not sure it's a good idea to mix your character pool with good and evil, especially if they end up indirectly crossing paths. It's kinda easier to be all in on one side heh. Though, hmm mixing the pool does keep the muse fresh.

Personally I think it's best to have an equal-ish representation. Heroes can't get up to much heroics if they don't have their antagonists. :3

I agree but is it okay for that player specifically to mix or should we, as a community dedicate ourselves to Heroes or Villains? I ask because we can't RP with ourselves, so those heroes/villains can't really cross paths. Finally entering the dark side myself, I'm certainly conflicted on this issue.

It's okay for players to mix.
Yes, you can't fight yourself really fairly, but the important thing is FUN.
If you'd have fun with a villain character and a hero character, have both.
Incidentally, you technically CAN RP with yourself, I think; I'm not sure if there are rules against it, and if there isn't a rule against it, why not?
((Note to mention dedicating to one side or the other has the potential to be REALLY BORING. XD))

Implied social taboo. It ruins all potentially great things.

^ That's exactly the issue with RPing with oneself, though I wouldn't mind if my Villains vs Heroes affected each other plot wise, indirectly. Kinda like hmm...how mickey left clues for Sora and the others things like that. I do agree though being forced exclusively to one side could be very boring too. I'm hoping this sparks fun debate and a sense of community. I mean ultimately, everything depends on how we populate the worlds and what characters are taken/made heh.

Yes, you certainly don't want to have the feeling that you're writing the entire plot (that your villains and heroes are the 'central' ones) but at the same time, it can make for very fun interaction to have characters that are involved in completely different plots temporarily meet up. Sort of like cameos. :3
In this, the world restriction actually *does* do wonders: your protagonsits and antagonists cannot meet easily or at all if they start off on different worlds.

That's true Nine and with careful planning we can enrich the plot of worlds...providing that said antagonist is on a different world from the protagonist heh. It's a bit more complicated when they are, plus the Social Taboo.
