No... the first monster I fought was me... and I lost that fight. Malthus thought to himself. But he didn't deny Ari's words. Still, something about those things just gave him such a fright... and, now that he recognized it, such a rage.
"I'll clear out them whenever I see 'em." He said grimly. "Doesn't mean they won't scare me, though. I suppose everyone has one thing that gets them good. This must be mine." A thought occurred to him. "If they have those for tournaments, then I could probably ask to train against them. That might help."

"Yeah, sure," Ari replied, shrugging. "Last time I checked, those things are usually what you fight when you do the training regiments Phil has set up. So you can beat them up to your heart's content while you're here."

"That sounds like a good idea!" Malthus said, stretching in anticipation. "...bad idea, ow, ow, ow..." Those cuts still stung! "I don't suppose you know any place I could relax for a while for my wounds to heal?" He asked sheepishly. He hadn't ever been cut up that badly. The closest it had come before was some accidents when training with his knives and daggers.

"Eh, there's a hotel or something like that next to the dock for the ships that they set up. Little fuzzy thing with a big nose runs it," Ari replied, chuckling. "I happened to walk by while it was screaming at somebody. 'Don't touch the pom pom' or something like that. It's the building to the right of the ship dock as you're going to it, can't miss it."

"Ah, so THAT'S what that was!" Malthus said, shaking his head. "...Admittedly, I'm a little iffy about resting in a building. I may just sleep on top of the building for a while. I think I know what kind of thing you're talking about, also... One of those things sold me my ship. They get around really quickly... apparently Twilight Town wasn't open for a day before they ended up moving there to sell ships."
He shook his head. "It was... somewhat hectic that day, people were all shocked, yadda yadda. I just bought a ship and left as soon as I could. I don't think anyone there even missed me."

"Hey now, don't say that! You're not there, so how do you know nobody missed you?" Ari replied, ruffling the kid's hair. "In fact, I half wager you're going to get a smack in the head for just running off without saying anything if you run into anyone from there. Not trying to jinx you or anything, mind you..."

"Hey, I said something!" Malthus protested. "I specifically told someone! It's not my fault if they didn't tell anyone else! In fact, I hope they did, but if they didn't, still not my fault! I needed to leave as quickly as possible!" Wanderlust is a hard thing to keep under control, and Malthus had it bad. It was doubtful he would spend too long a time on Olympus without good reason.

"Why, someone threatening to kill you?" Ari laughed, shaking her head. "Well, whatever, kid. You go on ahead and get some rest if you're going to; I think I'm going to head back to the docks and see if they're done unloading my cart. Don't forget to come find me before you leave, all right?"

"Won't be a problem." Malthus grinned. "Until then... just hang on tight. Don't be surprised if you see me at the Coliseum often!" He had fought real well in the tournament, but he needed to learn how to fight BETTER. He had gotten hit far too much in that match versus Prell for his liking. He saluted and walked off, eventually jumping up to the rooftops as was his custom.
