Appearance: Cloud stands at exactly five foot seven, and has dark blue eyes. His blonde hair is spiked on his head, though it doesn’t seem to need any provocation to do so, and it leaves his face entirely obstructed. Cloud normally wears a uniform of his own design; a black tank top shirt with a pulled-down turtleneck, and a pair of slightly baggy black pants stuffed into a pair of dark brown boots. Around his waist is a thick brown belt with two straps extending over his shoulders and down the other side, widening at the shoulders. On his right arm, he wears a pair of bangles and a shoulder pauldron that possesses four screw-shaped protrusions. On both hands he wears dark brown gloves with metal grooves built into the knuckle. Alternately, Cloud will wear a black sash over his left arm and a cloak, if just for a change of pace. He tries to avoid showing emotion, but he’s not the best at it.
Personality:•General Persona: Cloud is generally a quiet, shy, and fairly pessimistic person. While his pessimistic outlook on life doesn’t stop him from being one of the kindest people you could meet, it is clearly visible in how he talks about himself. He doesn’t see himself as worthy of the friends he has, and he greatly fears that they will be hurt because of him in some way. Cloud has never actively participated in social activities; in fact, he often stayed away from the other children his age when they were playing, even if they tried to invite him to play. He doesn’t like to talk about his feelings. He is still shy, but not nearly to the extent he was when he was a kid.
•Inner Thought Process: Despite his outward appearance of dislike for social activity, Cloud greatly enjoys being able to talk to anyone about anything. His shyness gave him a drastically low sense of self worth, and he sees himself as not worthy of his unlucky existence. However, he is also incredibly kind and brave; he would fight to defend his friends with his life if it came to it, and his greatest fear is that his life won’t be enough, and his friends will get hurt because of him. The thing Cloud loves most is the clouds he was named for, and he hopes that one day, his burdens will be lifted, and he can feel as free as the cloudsE

History: From a young age, Cloud was incredibly shy. He was raised in a good home, with loving parentsEbut Cloud never trusted himself with other kids. As much as he longed to play with the others, he couldn’t bring himself to do it, and when the other kids noticed him and went to invite him to play, he would hide himself away. He desperately wanted to have the fun the other kids were, but he could never quite work up enough courage to talk to any of them. He hated that he could never bring himself to make friends, something that caused him to become withdrawn, and he often looked sad. His seclusion increased when his father died from an illness, leaving his mother to care for him. During this time, Cloud learned of the legendary swordsman Sephiroth, and he dreamed to one day be just like his hero.
Though his mother tried to encourage Cloud to play with other kids, and even scheduled playdates with other kids, he still couldn’t bring himself to say or do anything, and starting from grade school on up, everyone gave up on trying to get Cloud to come out of his seclusion, and left him alone. It was in third grade that Cloud begun watching the sky, searching for the answers to his shyness. It’s a habit he keeps to this day, gazing at the clouds he was named for in search of an answer. When Cloud was a teenager, he decided he would attempt to get in to the military academy of Radiant Garden. However, Cloud was unsuccessful, and he was rejected. He was upset about the happeningEwhen, seemingly out of nowhere, a girl in pink gave him a flower and said it was for good luck. Puzzled, Cloud accepted the flower.
After receiving the flower, a few days later, Cloud decided he would learn what he could about battle anyways, taking up the sword his father had once owned, the Buster Sword, and taking careful notes of every training exercise that he saw, practicing on his own and honing his strength to where, now, he is capable of easily wielding his father’s broadsword. But, his luck didn’t last; after failing a second time to become a soldier, Cloud left Radiant Garden to become a traveler, wandering the lands outside of the city. But even then, Cloud’s horrible luck followed him.
As he was making a trek near the town, Cloud suddenly found himself surrounded by blinding light from all sidesEbut it wasn’t painful. Cloud didn’t know what it was, but it felt oddly relaxing. When the light faded, he was stunned to see what had happened; his inner darkness from being so secluded in his life had been forced out of him by the lightEand it quickly took on the form of Cloud’s hero, Sephiroth. The mock Sephiroth said nothing, and quickly leftEbut the events made Cloud think. Maybe it was a bad idea to leave Radiant Garden. Maybe, just maybe, he could actually make friends when he returned. Finally, Cloud worked up the courage to return home after what had been years. He was fifteen when he left Radiant Garden, and he’d returned at age nineteen.
As he returned, Cloud saw the girl who’d given him a flower for good luck, unconscious next to a poisonous flower. Worried about her, Cloud took her to the hospital, fearing he would be blamed for her collapse, though he wasn’t. He stayed with her until she woke up, and finally found out what her name was. As it turned out, the girl--Aerith-- remembered who he wasEbut Cloud denied having met her. By his means, he hadn’t. He’d never even known her name until now. Since then, little by little, Cloud has been able to open up a good bit. He is still shy, but not nearly to the extent he had been before, even to the point of calling Aerith a friend. Cloud’s personality was changed for the better when he finally returned to Radiant Garden; he finally opened up, and now has the courage to defeat his fears, no matter how great they are. He values his friends above all else, and will defend them with his life if it comes to that. Cloud’s self-training rivals that of normal combat training, and he is surprisingly good in battle despite not having formal training.
Cloud has yet to make a name for himself in anything but fighting, in which he is known as an adventurer and a duelist. His mom now runs the town bakery.
