Wakka waited until Tidus had taken up position n front of him, then nodded. Next her used his left forearm as his main upper body support, holding it down right across below his chest. His right hand was placed out in front of him, elbow on the wooden floor and forearm held up in the air. His open hand was right between them both.
"I'll arm-wrestle you for it."

"Aww man! Alright, let's do this." Tidus said, not that he'd ever pass a challenge, but he knew he had a clear DISADVANTAGE, in this one. However, that just meant winning would be that much sweeter. He needed to formulate some sort of strategy for this. His own body mirroring Waka's now. The left arm was used for support, the right would do the dueling. It was at that moment that Tidus wondered if Wakka was easily distracted.

Wakka looked deep into Tidus' eyes as the teen got over his initial reaction and started to get down to business. As the dirty blond went o clasp their hands, however, Wakka pulled his away. he had seen that look in Tidus' eyes. That scheming look when he was trying to figure out a clever play.
"I hope you know that can't trick your way out of this one, Tidus," Wakka said, surprisingly serious. "This is all about strength and willpower."

"Huh ah er...wait, fine."
Tidus, whom was caught off guard in his thought process, conceded to the terms. Strength and willpower. Well Tidus had plenty willpower or so he hoped. Strength, well...he knew he was at a disadvantage in this game.
"Fine but this challenge is off the record."
Tidus added, before mentally prepping for the struggle ahead. Perhaps he had some hidden muscles he didn't know about.

Wakka shook his head and put a disappointed tone in his accent.
"What is this? Tidus, talking like a loser?" he asked, still keeping his hand out of the opponent's. "Aren't you a true athlete with a strong body? Didn't you just wear me out of all my strength in the game today? Aren't we almost the same age? With all of that, you still think you need to fear a direct challenge?"

"So you want to play it like that, huh?" Tidus said before extending his arm out firmly. He was ready for the challenge. There was no way that Destiny Island's Ace Athlete would back down.
"Well if it's a challenge you want, one that's on the record and fair, then it's a challenge you'll get. I say, bring it on!"
He looked across to Tidus now, putting on his game face. This was it, they were going to focus their competitive energy to determine who gets lunch.

"That's what I like to hear," Wakka said, clasping his hand into Tidus' and strengthening his balance. "Now show me your stuff!"
[Basic Battlecry: Tidus' next Normal Attack will now be at the strength of a Weak Ability]
With that last yell of encouragement to steel Tidus' spirit Wakka began the match. He pushed hard and tried to end the fight as quickly as he could. He wasn't lying about Tidus wearing him out completely during the game today, though. If he had gotten Tidus to focus as much as he was trying to then the match might already be lost.

Tidus got into a focused state of mind. His own arm trying to keep the balance. Before he knew it, Wakka had launched a quick attack after the word go. His arm almost going ot the ground but Tidus kept it hovering. The boost of confidence by Wakka's taunt had filled Tidus with determination. That push was what would allow Tidus to take it from hanging on down at the bottom, to victory! He didn't even realize he had that much strength left, the look of surprise though quickly faded into a very taunting grin.
"Haha, who's the best?"
Tidus' tone was totally meant for taunting, though he mentally noted he'd worn out Wakka earlier.

"Today, you are."
Wakka got back up and brushed himself off before grabbing the bag with his wet trunks in them. He smiled at Tidus' excitement. Hopefully, even knowing what was different about this time than other possible times, winning here would help encourage Tidus to bolster his strength and stamina. Wakka wasn't too worried about the kid turning into a clone of him. The dirty blond was way too fond of his acrobatics to ever let them slip away or even stop polishing them. Wakka just wanted to help him fill in some missing gaps in his ability.
"Well, lunch is on me. Lead the way, All-Star," Wakka said with a smile.

"Oh man, you know it. Let's head back to the main land, we should really celebrate." Tidus declared as he grabbed his own pack. He'd head down that ladder real quick. The new priority on his mind was food after all. Yes, DI's Ace Athlete could be rather simple minded at times. Always looking forward, ready for the next challenge. With Wakka by his side, moulding him into a better competitor...
He might just beat Riku yet, for now they would eat! [end]
