![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Aerith/29xi6ad.png) Aerith smiled and didn't really say anything much else about Cloud's answer to her question; from the look of things he didn't really want to talk about his childhood. She knew that other people's childhood wouldn't be as good as hers was. So she didn't want to push into a subject that others didn't really feel comfortable talking about. But, it was good to see that Cloud had come out of the shell he had been in when he was a child. She still believed that he was the young blond haired boy she had seen in her childhood; but wouldn't push further into the subject. She knew enough and that was okay for her. She just smiled and continued walking besides Cloud.
She looked up towards the restaurant as he pointed towards it. She looked towards Cloud smiling, her eyes lighting up. "If..I knew we were going here I would of dressed in something nicer!" she said excitedly. She had always wanted to go there but had never really had anyone to go with, or an occasion, or the munny to. She stared at Cloud all googlie eyed. "It sounds marvelous, Cloud!" she wrapped her other arm around Cloud's arm that she was already holding hands with and smiled even more.

Cloud smiled; looks like he picked the right place. He chuckled when Aerith made a comment about not being dressed well enough. "You look great anyways, Aerith," He assured her, ruffling her hair affectionately with his free hand. What a conflicting sight this must have been; a stoic blond with a massive broadsword displayed on his back with a cheerful, obviously friendly brunette. Contrasting images, maybe, but it had worked out this way anyhow.
The couple were in and seated at a booth with a scenic outlook, with the fountains of Radiant Garden visible. They'd come at a good time; the usual dinner time crowd wouldn't be coming in for about an hour, and the restaurant was empty save for the servers and one other couple. It really was a nice place, if a little too fancy for Cloud's liking. They were given menus by a server and asked what they'd like to drink (Cloud ordered a soft drink).
"So, what d'you think? Glad I came around and woke you up?" Cloud asked with a smile.

Aerith beamed brightly at Cloud; even though she didn't really like having her hair ruffled. But, she was too excited at the moment to be annoyed by it. She walked with him the rest of the way, though she was more so leading him for she was walking at a fast pace. She was pretty eager to be going to this place. God knows how many times she had dreamed of going here.
Aerith sat across from Cloud; seating looking towards the fountain, more so than if she sat somewhere else. She gleamed with happiness. Her eyes even seemed to be lighter, though it might just be the lighting. She stared at the fountain for a moment then looked towards Cloud as he asked what she thought. "I've only dreamed of coming here," she beamed towards Cloud, smiling. She rested her elbow on the table and set her chin in the palm of her hand as she looked over at Cloud. "Yes, I am," she smiled brightly. "What a way to get away from all the work I've been doing," she added, not that she didn't mind the work. She had just come to realize how much she had been doing, and how tired she had become.
Aerith looked around some more, "My..this place is so much more beautiful than I imagined it to be," Yes, she was in fact going all googly eyed about this place.

"Yeah, it's a lot nicer than I thought it'd be. They fixed this place up quick," Cloud replied, nodding and returning Aerith's smile. Cloud also admired the decor... but it was just a little too fancy for him. It felt like he was in one of those romance novels his mom was in to... which was kind of unnerving. But Aerith's joyful expression made it all worthwhile. Even the horrified look the waiter was giving him because of the deep gouge in the floor where he'd placed the Buster Sword.
"Looks like your dream came true, then. I'm glad you like it. I hope the food's as good as the restaurant looks; I've heard a lot of good things about it. So, there are other worlds out there... Who knew? What do you think about it?" He asked, referring to Radiant Garden's discovery of different worlds; worlds beyond this one. It was amazing, really; whole new worlds, some of them even with people on them. "Erm... I'm rambling. What do you want to talk about?"

Aerith smiled then leaned back in her seat, sitting up straight. Hands in her lap. She continued to look over at Cloud as he spoke. She then raised her eyebrows as he mentioned other worlds. She smiled wide. "No,no, lets stay on this topic..other worlds," she mused out loud. "It's interesting and tempting to just take off and explore to see what exactly is out there,"
[Uhh..at a loss as to what to post :x]

"Yeah. I'd rather stick with what I know for now; you never know if the things would be friends or enemies," Cloud admitted. It was enough to combat monsters on Radiant Garden; doing it everywhere would make him feel kind of silly. But, he had to agree, he would like to see what all was out there some day. "It might be nice for quick visits, but I don't think I'd want to live on another world. 'Specially not if you weren't there; I'd never make any friends then."
His last sentence had been part joke, and part truth; almost all of his friends were people he'd befriended through her anyways, save for a few he had met on various assignments. "That, and the ships are kind of expensive. It'd still probably be nice to visit the different worlds, see what's out there."

![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Aerith/80-peace.jpg) Not like she could really take off and just go and explore the worlds; what ever worlds may be out there. From what they knew there were currently only two other worlds out there. One which was under attack much like Radiant Garden had been. Aerith smiled, "If you wanted, and when we knew more about these worlds.. would you like to go and explore them with me?" she offered Cloud. Of course she couldn't just go and explore those worlds on her own. She had to take someone else with her and why not Cloud of all people? Though, she bet if either Yuffie or Kairi found out they would probably most likely want to come along and then Squall would have to come along to, to protect the princess.
The waiter came back and asked if they were ready to order. Aerith smiled, her cheeks turning a slight pink in embarrassment. She had been lost in conversation with Cloud and had forgot to pick out what she wanted. She picked up the menu and instantly picked out what she wanted to eat. She smiled at the waiter and then he took Cloud's order.

"I'd love to go with you, Aerith," Cloud replied, returning Aerith's smile and placing his own order. The waiter didn't notice the gouge in the floor until after Cloud had placed his order, and he looked horrified when he noticed, though the man quickly hid it. Apparently, he was one of the ones that was supporting Cloud's staunch refusal to go anywhere without a weapon. After being caught off guard so badly, a lot more people were doing so.
He waited until the waiter had gone to give their orders to...whoever they went to from the waiter... before resuming the conversation. "Who knows how many other worlds are out there? I bet every one of them has places just as amazing as our own world. I know it sounds kinda cheesy, but I'd rather go with you to see them than anyone else... I don't think I could stand more than a few days with Yuffie," He joked, making sure to use a joking tone rather than his usual serious one.

Aerith smiled; she was happy, truthfully she would probably rather want to go explore those other worlds with Cloud than anybody else, though she didn't really like favoring one friend over the other. She tried to treat all her friends with the same kindness, the same friendship she offered the other. But, Cloud wasn't exactly just a friend anymore. She was starting to like him even more, more than just a friend.
She giggled at the Yuffie comment, "Yuffie can be a handful sometimes, but her intentions are good, most times," she smiled again, "Though, it would be fun to go with all of you, the whole gang. You, Yuffie, Squall and even Kairi, if her father permits it," The idea was very inviting, but the likely hood that they all could go wasn't much. Ansem probably wouldn't permit Kairi to go to unexplored worlds that could potentially be dangerous. With the whole Anomaly thing.

"Yeah, it would be," Cloud agreed, nodding. It probably would be fun. But at the moment, so far as he knew, none of them had the money to buy a gummi ship that big. Not to mention Ansem would probably throw a fit if Kairi came with them off-world. About that time, the waiter returned with their food and drinks, saying something pleasant (And giving a comment about the gash in the floor) before leaving again.
"So... d'you have anything you want to know about me? I've found out so much about you; I feel kind of bad not sharing my past with you."

![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Aerith/Aeriththoughtfulmagicker_icons.png) Aerith nodded and smiled towards their waiter as he returned with their food. She thanked him as he walked away. Then turned to look at Cloud again as he asked if she wanted to know anything about him. Sure she did, but she didn't mind if he didn't want to. Though, she did want to get to know him better she just didn't really have any questions that she could think of at the moment.
She smiled, "I don't mind, I kind of like the secretive side of you," she winked towards him, giggling. She then put her hand to her chin in thought, trying to think of what to ask him. "Hmm...what made you come back to Radiant Garden? Though, I probably wouldn't be alive now..if you hadn't decided to," she asked him, unable to think of anything better to ask.

![](http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/12900000/clouds-and-aerieth-cloud-strife-12995646-107-120.jpg) Cloud had to think for a moment about Aerith's question. He'd never really been able to figure out what had compelled him to return home. All he knew was that as soon as he'd seen Aerith half-dead outside of town, he'd put all his doubts aside and took her to the hospital. He shook his head as he answered. "TO be honest, I don't really know. Somethin' inside just told me to go back. I was actually about to turn back around when I found you dieing outside town. We're both lucky for me finding you. You probably would've died, and I'd have probably never come back."Or maybe someone else would have found her, and they'd never have met again. Although, Cloud had never considered their first encounters to be any sort of meeting; as a child, he'd seen her playing with the other kids, most often Squall. As a teenager, she'd given him a flower not an hour after he'd been rejected from the bastion guard and wished him good luck. He didn't really count those as really meeting her; they hadn't even exchanged names then.

![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Aerith/23-sweetdreams-1.jpg) Aerith smiled at Cloud, "Well, I'm glad you didn't decide to turn back.." she was truly grateful not for just him saving her and all, but for making friends with him. Having him around and all that jazz. She considered him a close friend; though they were edging towards more than just friends, but that was asides the point. She was just glad to have someone else around that wasn't Squall; though he would always remain her best friend. She just wished he was around more. So, that was one benefit of having Cloud around. But, Aerith just really liked having Cloud around, talking with him and doing things together.
She hadn't known him much from before he left Radiant Garden, so she was now curious as to why he left. "Since we're on the topic...why'd you decide to leave Radiant Garden anyways?" she asked, "Was it to find yourself? Like, who you are and stuff?" she added.

"I felt like I wasn't wanted. The Guard didn't want me, and that was the last job I was qualified for. I think... it might have been to make myself stronger. I'm still trying to sort out just why I left... I keep finding out most of the problems I had that made me leave were all in my head," He answered. Whatever that light had been those handful of years ago must have knocked some common sense into him when it knocked his darkness out. He had to admit, though; he didn't really feel like talking about his past, but it felt better to get some of it 'off his chest', as some folks said.

![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Aerith/AC9-hehe-1.jpg) Aerith listened to her 'friend' as he explained why he think he left. When the time came she was really a good listener. She nodded somewhat as Cloud explained, "So, since you've came back do you think you're stronger even though you may not know why you left in the first place that you believe that some good came out of you leaving?" she asked him, her expression remaining the same. It was somewhat serious, but the brown haired flower-girl seemed to keep a smile on her face even if it was small. She was asking Cloud this because she wanted him to figure out why he left, if he did accomplish something by leaving. She hoped he did. Maybe, he could try out for the Guard again. (And, maybe since Aerith knew Squall and he was in the Guard that she could try to help him get in. She wanted to help Cloud out. She wanted to see him happy and if it meant being in the Guard, then she would try her best to help him.)
She was hoping that he didn't say that there was one good thing that came out of him leaving, meeting her. She hoped that that wasn't the only thing. She wanted him to be confident, more stronger and stuff. She smiled some as she waited for his answer. Hoping he thought about it for awhile.
