As usual, the orange glow of the sun shone down over the entirety of Twilight Town, the Sandlot included. The open area was deserted today, no Struggles or events were scheduled. Since it was out of the way, no one usually came here unless they had to.
This made it perfect for Konaa's purposes.
What were his purposes, you may wonder? Some sort of diabolical scheme? An experiment which required copious amounts of open space? Even something as simple as exercising? Well, no. Konaa hated exercising and thought mad scientists were lame. And he was right.
His purpose was simple, to slack off. Indeed, he was showing an admirable lack of effort in slacking off. Surely the slacker's union would reward him, if they ever got around to it. He was seated against a wall, eyes closed as he enjoyed the sunlight.
His mind was blank. Just another day. Or was it? Well, now that I've mentioned it I guess it won't be.

Ellie was riding around on her skateboard, volume cranked up on her headphones. There weren't many people out so she didn't have to swerve to avoid them. She just happened to pass by the sandlot and she saw something from the corner of her eye. Having to stop herself she back tracked and peeked her head to look into the sandlot where struggles usually took place, though there hadn't been anything recently. She saw a guy seated against a wall, sunlight shining on him. For a moment Ellie wasn't sure if she knew the guy then as she looked at his appearance she began to recall who he was. Konaa. One of the guys she had met on the beach.
She began to walk into the sandlot and called over to the kid, "Hey!! Konaa!" she was now waving, though she hadn't realized his eyes had been closed and that perhaps he had been resting.[avatar]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v654/KatsumiX/Ellie/smile_sparkle.png[/avatar]

His rest. DISTURBED. BROKEN. EVERYTHING WAS RUINED FOREVER.
Not quite, but he wasn't terribly happy at being called while he was trying to slack off. Honestly, what was it with people and desiring conversation? Weirdos, all of them.
Opening his eyes, he turned to the approaching girl, and paused. It was...Ellie. He'd fought alongside her to defeat the monsters on the beach, along with...Malthus. He still felt a little sad whenever he thought about the energetic thief- they'd become friends almost too quickly for him to notice. He'd had no idea he would miss him.
Something about that made him speak back to Ellie. Plus, she'd been polite to him before, and he was only going to get better at this conversing thing by practice.
"It's...Ellie, right? What're you doing in this barren little patch of town?"

"You remembered!" the young redhead exclaimed as she stood in front of the now not-resting Konaa. "Ah! I was just passing by. Happened to spot you." she exclaimed. She had just been riding around town with nothing else better to really do. She gave Konaa a smiled and began to wonder what the other kid was up to she hadn't seen either of them in awhile. But, she couldn't remember his name, which was weird. She wasn't inclined to remember faces, wait to think about that she didn't recall his face either, or names better than the ladder. Lightly shrugging to herself she wondered why Konaa was here.
"Whatcha up to?" she asked looking around, it seemed that Konaa had been alone here. "The Sandlots usually empty..say there hasn't been a Struggle lately, wonder why." she mused, shrugging lightly.

"Oh...I wasn't really up to anything. I was just resting. It's what I usually do." He shifted his weight, pulling himself up to a sitting position, and considered the girl with a neutral gaze. He hadn't expected to be remembered by her.
He listened to what she had to say and nodded. "I was in a Struggle once. It was a pain, I made it all the way to the final round and lost to a girl I can't stand."
A shrug. "Maybe there's not enough public interest? I don't know. I like that hardly anyone comes here, it's a good napping spot."

"I've never had the chance to participate before," Ellie explained. She had never attended one to watch either. She lightly shrugged, "Probably. Maybe all the participants have grown up or something," she suggested, though she had no clue why.
"Hmm, napping spot eh? Seems more like an area to train or something.. though there isn't much to train against, or for I suppose." she said as her thoughts began to wander.
{its short, I don't know what else to do XD}
