Nanette's brows furrowed against her will. Seifer...
"It's personal, scruffy." The young woman replied, hiding behind her quip.
All the same, Nanette's bony forearms rubbed against each other in a protective stance before her body, mentally willing themselves not to try and knock Seifer out in protest to all the questioning going on.
"You..."
She shook her head.
"You wouldn't be interested, anyway."

"You're right, I wouldn't. Tell me anyways," Seifer replied, smirking. It was a lie; if he wasn't interested, why ask anyways? That was merely Seifer's way. If it didn't frustrate her all the more, it would probably wring an answer out of her finally.
[Ugh, posting is difficult today. Sorry for the shortness]

Nanette frowned in frustration.
She knew bait when she heard it.
But, okay.
"It's... well," Nanette rolled her eyes, turning on the bench to face Seifer. "For starters, I'm adopted."
See how that goes over, she thought.
[ I'm no less short today! ^^;; ]

"Uh huh," Seifer replied, nodding. He honesty didn't care if she'd been adopted or not; it made no difference.
"Keep going. Unless you're the worst storyteller in Twilight Town, that's not the end of it," He said, his blue eyes unwavering. He wasn't backing down, that was for sure.

Nanette flustered.
Her eyes, eternally half open in a dream-world kind of manner, were far gone from the station master's office as she opened her mouth to try and explain, to Seifer, the mess she was going through.
She didn't want to give many details. That was just how Nanette was, unused to the company and trusting of other people on this kind of emotional level.
But she probably would have stayed mum if some part of her didn't want-- desperately want-- to have someone she could... confide in.
"I..." she started, "I met my dad the other day.
"And... he, um, hit me."
She looked aside.

"...And after that you challenged me to a Struggle match to try to pick up something to defend yourself with if he hit you again," Seifer filled in. Contrary to popular belief, he wasn't stupid; stubborn, yes, but not stupid by any means. He nodded, a frown on his face. "Unless something else happened between then. Keep going; I doubt the station master's gonna leave us in here alone forever."

[ Way to not bat an eye at child abuse, Crazy! XD ]
Nanette's half open eyes wavered, staring at the wall.
Or worse.
"It-- well... just in case. Yeah..." The girl gave a simple nod.
...
The Stationmaster, huh.
"I'd, uh," she was still rolling through the emotional turmoil of parental abuse, giving her a hard time to swap topics, "guess we're waiting for our parents."
Nanette decided to abandon telling Seifer anymore just yet. He didn't need too know her father was applying for custody. Or that she had been set to go to that custody hearing fifteen minutes ago, for that train.
"...what now?"

"Because I obviously didn't know that," Seifer replied, a bit of sarcasm showing. "So you going to tell me where you were off to in such a hurry, or should I just follow and see for myself?" He asked, tilting his head back a bit inquisitively. If she thought he wouldn't follow, she had another thing coming.
