The sky was warm, before it curled up in darkness.
A massive shadow undertook the world of Disney Castle, destroying the flimsy excuse for a closed border and sifted through the air like a massive thunderstorm marred with the most deepest of red hues.
"No..."
His Majesty, King Mickey, stood with a gaping mouth as the white clouds were overtaken by their sinister brethren, the white marble of the colonnade succumbing to an unearthly red glow just beneath his feet.
Donald. He had to get to Donald.
The King sprinted down the corridor at a speed he would have hardly believed he could move at yesterday. Fear did that.
A thunderous rumbling from above broke His Majesty's concentration, stopping him in his tracks. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked up at the ceiling-- and heard the alarm.
Shouts were echoed down the hallways, the Knights were stepping into action and ordering the castle's occupants in every which direction to avoid-- an enemy?
The castle was under attack. The King grimaced slightly at the thought. Goofy could handle the Knights though.
He needed to find Donald.
King Mickey sprinted onwards. His head bobbed up and down with every step, only the dire need of the situation keeping him from toppling over entirely at this reckless speed.
It only took a few more turns before His Majesty found himself bearing down on Court Wizard's tower door, knocking rapidly on the wooden--
Vicious mumbling could be heard on the other side. The door tore open, revealing a cantankerous Donald.
"What's the big id-- your Majesty, I-I-I-I--"
"Later, Donald," the King quickly hushed as he shut the door behind him. "The castle's in danger-- we need your magic to save it."
"D-Danger?!"
"Donald..."
"Your Majesty, I don't know if I--"
"We don't have any time to argue, Donald! There's--"
B-crang!
Both friends turned their heads for the window, only to be greeted by the sight of a sheerly massive--
And Donald slammed the window shut in a flash.
And as His Majesty and Donald looked at each other, a dreadful shadow cast across their faces.
Magic alone wasn't going to rid the castle of this enemy-- these creatures.
And the Knights, if you had to judge by the distant shouts alone, were wrapped up in just keeping these monsters from leaving the castle to attack the town.
Donald ran past Mickey, who was deep in thought.
"A signal."
Donald looked up from his suitcase packing. "What, your Majesty?"
Mickey turned to his Court Wizard, a new determination on his face, a newly forged steel behind his eyes.
"Donald, we need to make a signal."
