[SYNTHESIS]
In the realm of Kingdom Hearts, synthesis was often used to manufacture items of greater power that could be used for just about anything. Weapons, armor, equipment, whatever you want. Well in order to better replicate this game, we've decided to come up with our own synthesis system... though it's a bit more unique.
As anyone who has ever done some handiwork should know, you don't often get things right when you're just starting out. Also, you can't produce anything of higher quality until you have gone through much practice with your projects.HOW IT WORKS
Basic Rules
- You cannot produce anything higher than your current skill level.
- The higher your skill level, the higher chance you have of making an item of a lower rank.
- Success or failure, the synthesis materials used in the making of the item will be taken from your account.
So imagine Synthesizing as having being a throwing game. There are six holes you can toss your one ball into. Three of these holes have the target you want your ball to hit, so you have a 50% chance of succeeding right? However, lets assume that this challenge is a bit below your skill level... So you use two balls. That means you now have a 67% chance of succeeding.
Synthesis is pretty much the same way. When attempting to synthesize an item of your own skill rank, you have a fifty-percent chance of doing it correctly. For each rank you have above the item you're attempting to synthesize, the item gains one more slot you can hit. So, here is the actual percentage list for synthesizing, for all of you out there who like good ol' numbers.
Take note that the last situation can only occur when a master synthesizer attempts to synthesize a novice item.
So, how do you progress through the skill rank? Synthesizing, of course! Here's the actual list. Keep track of your progress and synthesis threads so that staff members will know to bump you up to the next level. Alrighty?
Novice
- Attempt to synthesize an item (1)
Apprentice
- Attempt to synthesize an item (10)
- Successfully synthesize an item (15)
Journeyman
- Attempt to synthesize an item (10)
- Successfully synthesize an item (20)
- Successfully synthesize an item of Apprentice Rank (30)
Master
- Attempt to synthesize an item (10)
- Successfuly synthesize an item (30)
- Successfully synthesize an item of Journeyman Rank (45)
Have fun.MATERIALS
Synthesis materials are fun things. Collect a bunch of otherwise useless items and make 'em into new and useful ones? Who doesn't want some of that?
So yeah. First, some info.
Materials are funny things. They come in four types-
Shards, Stones, Gems, and Crystals.
That bit shows you how rare it is. Shards being dropped by every so many enemies, and Crystals being serious pains in the rear to find. Much less get.
There are exceptions to this rule, but that's usually only for super rare items. So if you see a material without that rarity add-on, then you'll want to kill to get it. Trust me on that one.
But back on topic. Now, a list!Bright
Blaze
Frost
Thunder
Power
Spirit
Lucid
Mystery Goo
Mystery Force
Those last two don't have add-ons. >> Thought you should know.
There's more materials than this, mind you, but you'll have to push long and hard for Quests and hope for Invasions for the unnamed materials.
Keep an eye on the Shop: there's be a Synthesis Item menu there, and it's been known to change on a regular basis!
