[KEYBLADES]
Keyblades-- mysterious weapons of unknown make but virtually unrivalled in sheer power, this weapon made in the form of a large key is the Light that all Heartless fear. These weapons also have an important role in the story in store-- these weapons also break down the barriers between worlds.
Keyblades are a fundamental part of the Kingdom Hearts realm. Throughout all of the games, they played a central role among the protagonists. Here, we intend it to be no different. But in order for the Keyblade to retain it's rare and legendary status, they come with a hefty price. A weapon can't exactly be legendary and revered if everyone and their mother has one, right?
So, let's get down to the system. In order to obtain a keyblade, there are only two role-play requirements:
1. A Keyblade may not go to a character who has not been RPed with unless reasonable justification is given. If your character has a central plot arc which focuses them on having a Keyblade from the beginning or in their background, staff will allow it should it make sense. Just saying "Joe got a keyblade when he was 12" and never mentioning it again won't work.
In fact, we're going to be looking at your RPs to make sure there's enough of it to get a sense of the character before we let you buy a Keyblade for them!
2. Keyblades cannot be possessed by Heartless, seeing as the Keyblade is a weapon of the Light. See, Heartless are of Dark nature, and outright fear the Keyblade. They may not own or bear one, even if they so happen to be the Heartless of a Keyblade Wielder.
That all taken care of? Excellent. Here are a couple basics on the Keyblades.• Keyblades may unlock or lock any sort of lock, ethereal or physical, including the barrier that prevents travel to and from a world. However, Keyblades do not affect a being's mind or heart (as defined by the realm of Kingdom Hearts).
• A Keyblade may reappear in their owner's hand from any position whatsoever.
Keyblades cost 2500 munny. Other than buying one, the only way you can obtain one is through a Special Event. The Keyblade you buy will be the one of your homeworld. It comes with its own abilities that you will be able unlock the stronger you become.
Want the Keyblade of another world? Well, given you can't buy another Keyblade... you can obtain the Keychain for that world. These are free, but you must spend a hefty amount of time in another world to obtain its Keychain. How much time, you ask? Good question!
In order to lock or unlock the barrier surrounding a world, one of two things must happen. Either the Keyblade Wielder must be on that world at the time, or the Keyblade Wielder must have a World Artifact. These are unique items randomly found through question, and can be used in conjunction with a Keyblade to open or close a world when traveling to or from the world in question.
World Artifacts are held by a character themselves, and can only be transferred between characters ICly. When the player of an Artifact Holder goes inactive, after a month it will return to being randomly obtainable through a Quest. Artifact Locations are listed in the Character Locations Thread.
