Appearance: Dhakwan is 6 feet flat and rather slim. He has spiky black hair that seems swept over to the left. He has medium length bangs that to the left of his face but hang over the right side. His eyebrows are short and thin; his eyes are narrow and don't seem to open very wide. His left eyes is a hazelnut brown while his right is an eerie yellow with a set of circles serving as a sort of pupil. There is also a nasty scar on it. This eye is often covered by bandages. On his right ear is a cross-shape earring along with a few smaller piercings. He doesn't tan or burn easily, so his skin stays a light caramel color. His social status is hard to determine just by his clothes; he isn't a street rat, nor a aristocrat. However, his clothes are made of tough and high quality material that must have cost a lot of money.
He wears a blue scarf around his neck that can be pulled over his face; ideal for blocking sand from flying into his eyes, nose, and mouth. Along with a long sleeved black body tight shirt, he wears a sort of sleeveless brown jacket with tufts of fur and a hood that he rarely wears. The jacket stays close to his skin up to his waist, where it flares out and stops above his knees. Around his waist is a black and gold belt with two small pouches on either side, carrying his cards, 26 cards in each. As far as pants go, his aren't very special. They're black and stay tucked into his tough leather boots, which are black with gold snake-like designs down the middle. On his right hand his wears a blue fingerless leather glove with two rings on his middle finger, one gold with a black circle and one silver with white skull. On his other hand is most commonly his black, silver, and gold bladed glove. Around his neck he wears a silver chain with a cross-shaped charm.
Personality:•General Persona:
Dhakwan is considered a shady person by others, and it's not hard to figure out why he got that reputation. He has ways to get what he wants, in which most aren't very pleasant. Being a great liar and actor, many find him hard to understand and trust. He's a great charmer and can easily allure people. Horribly short-tempered, Dhakwan is someone who'll bite your head off if you anger or upset him. Things have to go the way he wants, or else he'll be grumpy. Having a cynical and pessimistic attitude, he's always expecting the worst, easily coming up with things that could go wrong. Despite being not being either good or evil, Dhakwan seems to choose the side that benefits himself the most. Rarely will he ever open himself up to others, so people often think of him as cold and mysterious. He speaks his mind and is very blunt, sometimes making him hurt others feelings without meaning to. Sly and intelligent, Dhakwan is a great tactician and problem solver. Because of this and his lithe build, he is an ideal thief.
•Inner Thought Process:
For the most part he seems apathetic and uncaring, but this cold shell was created to protect himself. He's not quick to trust by anyone's standards and is usually by himself. He has a hard time expressing his feelings, and comes off as a harsh, cold person that no one wants to be around. Often mean to those he cares about, he has a hard time making friends. To protect his loved ones, Dhakwan is willing to play the bad guy and lie for their sake. A bit paranoid, he tries to stop himself from making friends in the fear he'll be betrayed or abandoned. Deep down, Dhakwan has the ability to be caring towards others, but he has yet to find it and use it. His outer persona was created mainly to protect himself, but his real self is not much different, minus the evil attitude.

But Your History Decides Your Version of "Responsibility"
History: Dhakwan was born into a life of poverty and sandstorms. From the time he could walk and do things himself, he had to do back-breaking work to earn money and survive. His father always expected the best from him and was never pleased no matter how hard he tried. He wanted perfection and Dhakwan could never achieve it. While his mother was kind towards him, there was nothing she could do to make her husband accept his son.
When he was about nine years old, his mother had another baby--his sister. Soon after his mother was killed. His father became even colder towards him after that, making him work longer and harder, even giving up his job at one point and forcing Dhakwan to support the family. Unfortunately, his sister was a frail and sickly individual, she couldn't handle the life they lived. It wasn't long before she died. After her death his treatment worsened.
He was blamed for the misfortune in their family. His dad claimed he didn't work hard enough for the family and it was why his sister died. Attempting to make Dhakwan suffer what they did, his father starved him and made him sleep out in the cold all alone. Still refusing to work and take care of him, Dhakwan had to make a living for himself. Even though it was hard, he refused to steal. One day, he was about thirteen, he couldn't stand it anymore and confronted his dad. They had a bad fight that left Dhakwan scarred for life, literally. Flailing a knife around, his dad left a large and deep x-shaped scar on his back.
That was the last time he ever saw his father, but it was heard around that he was killed on accident by some bandit. He continued to support himself, but was still nothing more than a street rat. On a hot day in the market, he met someone who he immediately admired. A boy a few years older than him defended a young, starving boy from a pair of angry vendors, who were beating him around for snatching an apple. That boy paid for the apple and gave it to the young child, who soon ran off.
Dhakwan was easily influenced at that time and quickly saw that boy as an older-brother figure; his name was Harith. They became friends and he was taught a bunch of cool things; from tricks to battle strategies. He trusted that man with all his heart until one day he betrayed him. He was told to sneak into the castle and take something he was told belonged Harith. Under his influence, Dhakwan was taught to become a first-class thief while he thought he was training to be a hero. Fortunately and unfortunately, he successfully collected that item and brought it back to Harith. When he did, he was told how valuable that item was and how big the crime he had committed was. Dhakwan had just been used for Harith's gain. It was also revealed he had been the one who killed Dhakwan's mother and father. Harith had noticed Dhakwan's potential and used him.
Harith had no intention to use Dhakwan afterward, so attempted to make a run for it. Dhakwan attacked him and they began to fight each other. He snatched one of Harith's daggers and stabbed him in the chest, right after Harith stabbed him in his right eye. His right eye had always been different, for it was a strange yellow color instead of brown like his left eye. Magic had been embedded in it and the stab had awakened it, releasing his powers. Stealing everything from Harith's body, including a mysterious deck of cards, Dhakwan left him to die. From then on he took on a cold and persona and used his agility and intelligence to his advantage, never again living in poverty but never again living beside another.
He began to train himself in the ways of magic after discovering the power sealed within his eye. Never had Dhakwan seen anything like it. Having the ability to create fire and shoot lightning at people was amazing. Unlocking the cards' abilities, he became even more astonished. He became feared because of his power, but he decided it was safer to be alone.
