"So it was true all along..." Zee said to herself, looking up at the stars blinking into existence with the darkening that was never quite complete here. It was the sign night time was coming, but the sun never fully set; it was always twilight. It did, however, darken enough that you could see the stars. Other worlds...! It's so exciting... so many different people, all on different little worlds, looking up at the sky just like us... She thought, kicking her legs in he open space ahead and taking a bite of the sea-salt popsicle she'd bought a few minutes earlier. She was sitting on the guard rail on the little cliff that overlooked the ocean and the train tracks, the sun making a beautiful picture over the water. It was almost unbelievable, but totally true.

Ellie hadn't had time to enjoy herself recently so she thought she would take a trip to the beach, the last time she had been there was when she had encountered those creatures..And had met that those boys. She had also learned something -- That her suspicion that there were other worlds out there was correct! But, she didn't really have anyway to get there really. She began to wonder if anyone else had ever explored them. What if she was to be one of the first to? That would be majestic. She would be Ellie the Explorer of Worlds!
Yet, those thoughts just seemed to be thoughts, well for the mean time. Right now, Ellie was watching as the sky dimmed as much as it could. These days she didn't admire the sun setting so much. It was still wondrous in its own way but she had seen it so many times before. She wanted to see things, explore new places. But, how was she ever to get off this world? She looked up at the sky, at the stars. Wondering how she could ever reach those stars. Coming to the edge of the cliff she noticed that someone else was already here. She walked to the railing and stood next to the girl. "The stars are phenomenal aren't they?" she asked, giving the girl a wide smile.

Zee didn't notice the new addition to her stargazing until she was right there beside her. And, surprisingly, Zee did nothing more than greet her new acquaintance with a big grin. "Ahm! I heard the stars were going to be really bright tonight, so I came out to look. I'm Zee, by the way, nice to meet you!" She said, switching her popsicle to her left hand and extending her right for a handshake.
She acted composed, but inside she was buzzing with thoughts. How many worlds were there? Were there people on all of them? How did you get there? What were the people like? Things like that. She was so excited; she just couldn't wait to find someone from another world and talk to them! "Didja hear about all the other worlds out there being found out? It's exciting to think about, isn't it?"

Ellie leaned against the railing, looking out over the sea into the distance. She began to wonder how far other worlds were. She had been on this world so that she dreamed and thought up other worlds, much like the worlds she had read in books. She wondered if other worlds were like those she had read in books, of course those were only made up and fairytales. "Ellie's da name," she grinned back at Zee as she shook the girl's hand.
"Yeah, I always fantasized about other worlds, wondered where the stars lead and if I could ever reach them." she said as she stared up at the stars, extending a hand towards them as if she was about to grasp a star into her hand. Closing her palm she turned again to Zee, "But..now that I know that there are worlds out there, I need to figure out how to get to them!" She turned to the sky again, standing on her tipsy toes as she leaned against the railing. Her eyes beamed up at the stars, eagerly.
"It would be phenomenal to actually get to see other worlds besides my own!" she beamed up at the stars. Still with that bright look in her eyes and upon her face she looked over at Zee. "Hey! Would you like to go with me? To explore all those stars, all those worlds?" she asked, motioning her hand towards and across the sky. There were so many stars, so many worlds to explore!

"Sure, I'd love t'tag along with ya!" Zee replied, flashing a big grin at her new friend and brushing some of her bubblegum pink hair out of her face before the sea breeze had a chance to irritate her with it. "This li'l fuzzy thing was selling something called a Gummi Ship a little while after that flash of light the other day. I think we need one of those to get off world, but I don't think I got the cash to buy one. But hey, why rush things? If we sit back a while, we'll be able to find out more about those different worlds from the travelers that'll be drifting through. No need to rush in an' get ourselves hurt, you know?"

Ellie smiled at the girl again as she agreed to going with her. She wasn't sure why she had asked her, she barely knew her but she didn't exactly want to go alone. "Gummi ship, eh?" she asked, tilting her head then looking at the sky again some, thinking. She did have some munny laying around that she had saved up--and for such an occasion to get away from here. To explore the things that were unexplored. To broaden her horizons. Leaning against the railing she thought for awhile then spoke, "I have some money saved up...I'm not really sure why I was saving it up, maybe for such an occassion. There are some jobs around town where we can get some more munny, know how much those ships you heard about cost?" she asked Zee.
It wasn't like she felt confined here. She loved this place it had been her home for years, but she didn't have much here. No family and hardly any friends, though there were plenty of people she knew but no one she really felt close to anymore not after Grams died. "I know a bunch of people who would be willing to give us munny for doing some nick and nacks, but...I suppose we should investigate these so called Gummi Ships, eh?" she asked, looking over at Zee.

"Hm... I think we might have enough between the two of us. They're not too incredibly expensive, from what I've heard, but I'd rather have another person with us. Ya know, traveling with friends is safer than traveling alone and all that. Maybe someone who knows how to fight kinda well," Zee trailed off, finishing her sea-salt ice cream and checking the stick. Not a winner; oh well. She tucked the stick into her pocket for later disposal, kicking her legs and leaning back for more balance while doing so. "Hey, maybe that Seifer kid would want to come along? I heard he went down into the sewers and beat up those monsters that were kidnapping people; he might be a great help!" She suggested, beaming, more or less wandering into her own little world for a minute. A reply would probably snap her out of it, though.

Ellie remembered encountering Seifer, though it had been brief. He didn't seem to bad. Perhaps they could track him down and ask if he wanted to come with him. From what she remembered he had spoken about the stars, but Ellie couldn't remember if he said anything about going to them. " 'nother person, huh?" Ellie mused. She wasn't the fighting type but she had encountered some things awhile back and had fought with two others against them. "Suppose it couldn't hurt to track him down and ask, huh?" She asked, though it was more so a statement.
"Know where he might be?" she asked.

"Hm... Well, he's one of those guys that competes in the Struggle every year, right? I figure you can find him down by the sandlot if you looked, or maybe down by the station. Market street is a good place to look, too, but I'd try the Sandlot first," Zee suggested after a minute of thinking. "Gosh, this is so exciting! Tell you what, leave the technical aspects of the ship to me; I think I can keep it running smooth once we get it. Who would've thought of using Gummi Blocks to make a ship? Genius! 'couse, for the heavier stuff, it'd probably be better to just show it to an engineer; I'm just a general mechanic, after all. Anyhow, wanna get to it? If we start packing now, we could probably be on our way by lunchtime tomorrow!"

This was all happening so fast. She had just learned about these ships and she and her new friend were already planning. "Huh, a mechanic eh?" Ellie mused to herself, "Should be handy.." she added. She couldn't really figure out how much help she would be though. With Seifer being the fighter of the group, if he agrees, and Zee the mechanic, Ellie couldn't figure what she could be. Its not like she wasn't good at anything, she was good at a few things. But, for this mission? This adventure, nothing came to mind. She would opt to be Navigator, but she knew nothing of these new worlds.
"Let's go check the Sandlot and ask Seifer, then take things from there, yah?" she stated, throwing her hand to the side some giving a small jester as she smiled.
"Hmmm..." she said putting her hand to her chin, "How much stuff do ya think we should bring?"
Ellie was getting excited. She was going to explore the stars and such that she had stared at all her life.

"Uh, gosh, I dunno," Zee replied, staring off into space before her thoughts were interrupted by the gongs of the clock tower. Oh no! She was late! "Ack! I'm sorry to have to run so soon, but I almost forgot there was something I had to do! Maybe we can meet some time later; bye Ellie!" She said quickly, practically bolting down the hill. And there she goes....
