[ This is a Closed Quest. Only 00Penguin's Vir may participate, unless otherwise invited. ] Oi.
Phil rubbed his forehead again.
Rookie tournaments-- the Big League Ticket as some of the more hopefuls kept calling it, the shrimpy wannabes-- had a tendency to give Phil headaches. All the tykes who kept banging on his door, hoping to fulfill some kinda dream, absolutely insane the lot of 'em-- sure, the Heartless are largely under control, but this satyr didn't become the satyr he is today by taking risks with lives!
Not when he couldn't avoid it, anyhow.
Phil started jotting down on the chalkboard.
Sure, winning the kiddie rounds here might give you the oomph you needed to try into the serious ones, but that was a rare thing. Most of the folks fighting in these, they can barely handle the Heartless. Hafta keep Herc on standby just in case one of the tykes goes rigid.
After culling the kiddies from the crowd, Phil found a tougher bunch than you might expect for a rookie tournament. One extra, too-- usually only managed to get up to four on a good day, and today there's five rookies in the ring. That oughta be a good sight, right?
Anywho.
Phil put the chalk down and squinted at his work.
Yeah, that should do it. ~Round 1~ -- HEAVY STEP -- [ Rookie Tournament Rules: ] Each Tournament Round will last for 7 rounds max. This is a rookie tournament, folks.
The 1st RP round starts with the first attack, and the first side to attack starts the posting order.
Most damage dealt at Tournament Round end determines the winner.
Defeating your foe(s) before time ends will also result in a winning mark.
You must post at least once every two days. If you don't, your character will be in a presumed BSOD, and Herc will jump in and remove your character from the tournament, for the character's sake.
[/center] And here it is-- the Rookie Tournament!
A mild turnout for the first round, a spattering of mainly families are in the crowds, waiting for the opportunity to cheer.
The grumpy old satyr is sitting off near the gates, by the chalkboard, watching with studious intent. Hercules-- who needs no adjectives to his name-- is also sitting and watching the first round.
A whistle goes off-- Phil, maybe?-- and a shattering of black swims across the field.
Three Shadows await after the mist falls, alongside... is that a Mega Shadow?
This won't be easy.

Vir was smiling all over, Hahaha, Finally my first tournament. Now I'll be able to show the world how much of a hero I am. Vir unsheathed Stella pointing up to the sky thinking about his goal and pointed the tip at the big guy. You're mine big guy.
Vir touched the blade as he started to fire-up his aura. Fully charged Vir ran forward jumping high into the air and going for a downward strike onto the Mega Shadow.
[Recap: Vir did his 'trademark' of Awesome hero-ness. Implanted Fire Aura into Stella, then using Jump Boost he is about to do a downward strike onto the Mega Shadow]

BAMF! 3 damage to the Mega Shadow, which takes a forced step or two back in recoil, shaking its big black head in response to the hit. Meanwhile, Vir's charge straight into the foray has brought him into a bit of a sticky situation-- the three Shadows that had all been standing next to the Mega Shadow shot forward, intending to do some damage! Vir quickly repositioned his sword as he went for a full swing, exposing his back.
Taking all three of the shadows' attacks, he brought his own attack onto them with a sideway slash.
Overexerting the swing he lost his foot as he crawled away to get some distance between him and them.

Vir's blade sliced into the three Shadows, easily taking advantage of their close range and giving them each a healthy 3 damage. The three Heartless, knocked back, take to the ground for the remainder of the turn, swarming for Vir's crawling bod-- Vir's shadow just disappeared. ...no, it moved aw-- HOLY SHOOT IT'S THE MEGA SHADOW UNDERNEATH VIR. Oh no, not good. As Vir noticed that these thing have taken to the ground. Vir readied his sword as he kept a close eye on these things. How do I fight this thing, come Vir use your head, use your head, use... your... HEAD!
Leaning his head back, he brought it back down with great force, slamming it into the ground onto the Megashadow hoping to atleast damage it.
If that didn't work, he did leave a good size crack on the field.
[hp=19/22]
[Recap: Vir using his PASSIVE ability Hard-head, did a "Headbutt" onto the Megashadow.]

The Mega Shadow slipped upwards, its yellow eyes refo-- WHAM. ...aaaand it went straight back down, losing the will to stand, momentarily!, under the weight of Vir's head. [4 damage to Mega Shadow, it's still 3D under Vir-- so I guess he's sitting on it?-- but it's a little dazed at the moment.]The remaining Heartless were starting to close in on Vir-- their flimsy flat forms flitting for the entrant-- this would be his only opening...! (Great Sun Tzu, It worked... sort of ) That was a little different than what Vir had in mind but he didn't care. Seeing that the three little ones were about to pop their heads out, Vir was not going to miss this. Vir giving Stella a good spin and with a toss, Stella and her fiery trail shot up into the sky. Then he jumping off the Megashadow into the air, and with both his fist and his head pulled, making an unusual three pronge attack. Making contact with each shadow giving them their own 'treats', one receiving a fist, the middle his and the last one... a fist. Stella, like any shooting star, 'crashed' into the back of the Megashadow. [hp=19/22] [RECAP: Vir tossed his sword straight up, then using Jump Boost and pulled three prong attack simulatenously, while his sword fell back onto the... back of the Megashadow. Not sure if this is legal, if not at least it looks cool. Lol. Hot Fiery Justice for Everyone! Hey Look Mommy a Falling Star!]

[ I was oh so very tempted to say the three Shadows weren't anywhere near each other. Just a head's up, fufufu...]There was a tense moment on the field as Vir and Stella were both in the air, in their separate ways. Herc looked about ready to jump out if Vir missed and hit his head on the concrete, his knees already bent and at the ready. But the worry was for naught-- all attacks hit home, and-- goodness me, Vir ended up hitting his head on the concrete anyway, the attack was so strong! Blew right threw the Heartless and for the ground. Crack and all that. [ Recap: 3 damage to Mega Shadow, 8 damage and subsequent defeat to a Shadow, and 2 damage per remaining Shadow.]A blade to the back certainly got the Mega Shadow up and awake. And mad. Stella, still stuck in the Mega Shadow's back, had the creature up and in a fit. It charged in a very not-nice manner for Vir, intending to give the brat a 4 damage scratch! The two remaining Shadows, too, had it out for the boy. Though hit with the punches, the two easily took to the fight and made to hit Vir. [hp=18/32] [hp=0/8] [hp=4/8] [hp=4/8]

As the black mist cleared from his view, Vir could see, upside-down, that the Megashadow was charging at him. Of course what he didn't see where the two Shadows that he didn't kill as they both hit their marks. But propping himself with his head he did an awkward cartwheel to the side, rolling out of danger from the Megashadow.
Vir started shaking the pain from his arms as started doing a light hop on each foot going side to side. Ha... Now I'm fired up! Let's Go!
Vir made a dash for the Megashadow with enough speed he jumped into the air going straight into a head dive for the Megashadow. If things went well, he could daze it again so that he could get Stella out of it's back and then give then a real show.
[hp=17/22]
[RECAP: While Vir let the first two shadows attack go by, he pulls a weird Dodge Roll to move out of the Megashadow's attack. Now with a running start, Vir jumps in the air, low this time, and is doing a propelled headbutt on the Megashadow.]

No, the Mega Shadow wasn't falling for that twice in a row. Sure, Vir's brash headbashing did hit for an impressive 8 points worth of damage, but no way was it going dazed with a sword poking out of its back! On the contrary, after taking the hit-- and being rather unamused, I assure you-- it immediately retaliated at that close range for 4 points of damage, and it intended to do more than that if Vir didn't get moving! All the while, the two remaining Shadows kept up pace and were waddling off towards Vir once more. [hp=10/32] [hp=4/8] [hp=4/8]

The Megashadow's scratch sent Vir flying backwards as he hit the ground rolling. But he quickly picked himself back up and ran straight back for the Megashadow again.
This time with a running start, he jumped into the air sailing over the Megashadow and grabbing Stella from the back of it. And before he touched ground, Vir threw Stella forward and into the ground. As he made contact he slid on some loose gravel and watched as Stella implanted into the ground.
Letting his front stop on the flat part of Stella, he turn himself around putting himself in a runner's position. Keeping his eyes straight forward, he concentrated his aura, heating and combining it with Stella's fiery aura trying to reach it's peak.
[hp=13/22]
[RECAP: After being slapped silly, Vir recover and ran straight for the Megashadow using the combine power of his run and Jump Boost to create a high long jump, grabbing the sword from the back of the Megashadow, and throwing it further ahead into the ground. Vir is now charging for Burning Star.

[And then the Mega Shadow waltzed up to Vir and smacked him out of the runner's position--]The Mega Shadow shuddered as the blade slid out of its back. Relieved of the pain, if not the memory, the Mega Shadow resumed a more regular swag to its step, sauntering over to Vir from its location with no particular speed. The two remaining Shadows, meanwhile, realized they were going nowhere fast. They took to the ground, using its vastly superior speed to approach the crouching hero. Vir, now at the peak of his power, looked straight at the Megashadow and launched himself forward leaving a burnt trail on the ground.
Vir's aim wasn't directly infront of the Megashadow, but more to the side. As Vir passed by the Megashadow he only had enough time to extend his arm, ensuring a solid hit as he ran by. After reaching the extend of his run, he started sliding to slow himself down. He panted heavily as he slowly turned himself around positioned his fist in his normal stance.
[hp=13/22]
[RECAP: Reaching his peak, Vir uses Burning Star going slightly off-target of the Megashadow but extending his arm out hoping to at least get a solid hit on the Megashadow, whether by the fist or the fiery aura. Then finishing his move by re-situating himself ready to fist with his fist.]

Vir's hand just barely whacked against the Mega Shadow's head, nicking off 2 points worth of damage in the blow. The Mega Shadow, surprised at the dash, turned and made to chase after Vir again-- FWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!Pfft! Black dust erupted into the air as the Heartless were dismissed from the field. Phil lowered the whistle and, unceremoniously, raised his arm and gave Vir a thumb's up. Vir had made it past the first round! There was some respectable applause from the audience. Hercules wasn't anywhere to be seen though. Ah well, no big loss. The tournament's just getting started! ~ROUND 2~ --YATUSATARI-- [ Will be fighting in Yatusatari's thread. Head on over! ]
