[ This is a Closed Quest. Only BOB-OMB's Yatusatori may participate, unless otherwise invited. ] Oi.
Phil rubbed his forehead again.
Rookie tournaments-- the Big League Ticket as some of the more hopefuls kept calling it, the shrimpy wannabes-- had a tendency to give Phil headaches. All the tykes who kept banging on his door, hoping to fulfill some kinda dream, absolutely insane the lot of 'em-- sure, the Heartless are largely under control, but this satyr didn't become the satyr he is today by taking risks with lives!
Not when he couldn't avoid it, anyhow.
Phil started jotting down on the chalkboard.
Sure, winning the kiddie rounds here might give you the oomph you needed to try into the serious ones, but that was a rare thing. Most of the folks fighting in these, they can barely handle the Heartless. Hafta keep Herc on standby just in case one of the tykes goes rigid.
After culling the kiddies from the crowd, Phil found a tougher bunch than you might expect for a rookie tournament. One extra, too-- usually only managed to get up to four on a good day, and today there's five rookies in the ring. That oughta be a good sight, right?
Anywho.
Phil put the chalk down and squinted at his work.
Yeah, that should do it. ~Round 1~ -- SEPHIROTH -- [ Rookie Tournament Rules: ] Each Tournament Round will last for 7 rounds max. This is a rookie tournament, folks.
The 1st RP round starts with the first attack, and the first side to attack starts the posting order.
Most damage dealt at Tournament Round end determines the winner.
Defeating your foe(s) before time ends will also result in a winning mark.
You must post at least once every two days. If you don't, your character will be in a presumed BSOD, and Herc will jump in and remove your character from the tournament, for the character's sake.
[/center] And here it is-- the Rookie Tournament!
A mild turnout for the first round, a spattering of mainly families are in the crowds, waiting for the opportunity to cheer.
The grumpy old satyr is sitting off near the gates, by the chalkboard, watching with studious intent. Hercules-- who needs no adjectives to his name-- is also sitting and watching the first round.
A whistle goes off-- Phil, maybe?-- and Yatusatari's first opponent turned.
It was a boy, maybe 12-years-old, with blondish-blue hair. (What, you were expecting someone else?)
He had an adamant sort of face, and a very real sword. Brandishing it, the boy fell back into a fighting stance.
His footing looked a little off, but Lil' Sephiroth seemed to know what he was doing with that sword.
"I'm not losing," he said, looking at Yatusatori. "Not today, not ever."

((ari, not ori. No orcs here.)) "Isn't there an age requirement for these things...?" Yatusatari wondered aloud. Regardless, she hefted Masamune into a position where the massive, scarred blade was between herself and her opponent. "Don't think I'll take it easy on you just because you're a kid!" She exclaimed, making a surprisingly quick dash forward and swinging Masamune in an upward spin, in such a way the blade would catch her target, followed by a continued spin with the blunt area of the blade aimed for her target, landing and taking a small leap back, keeping her shoulder to her opponent and letting Masamune's blade hit the ground, ready for the retaliation. The look on the boy's face as Yatusatari charged forward was one of controlled terror. His training took over as Masamune's uppercut came up, quickly upending his own blade and pushing back against it with his left elbow, to meet the coming blade and make up for his own lack of strength. Masamune hit-- the boy's deft movement pushed the broadsword's swing away from the boy's body, and left his shoulder feeling a little strained for it too. The awkward hold on the blade, however, left him wide open for the blunt wham that slammed into him next, sending him rolling. He dropped his blade halfway through this roll, having the good sense not to carry it and risk falling into the blade's path. [1.5 damage dealt to Sephiroth. Going to show 2 points for now (HP code doesn't like fractions) and adjust for next hit accordingly.]Sweat was glistening across his furrowed brow already, easily visible as the boy Sephiroth came out of the roll and dashed forward for his blade. He didn't want to think what could have happened if Yatusatari hadn't been in the middle of a leap backwards. The blade went into the blond-blue haired boy's hand quickly, quickly resuming that same stance of his. And Masamune hit the yellow stone, kicking up a small amount of dust in doing so. The look in boy Sephiroth's eyes wasn't one that was giving up, yet-- he was thinking, albeit frantically. ...he slipped the blade onto the case strapped to his back, tensed his hands up, a-- and charged forward, the crazy moron, apparently intending to go fists-against-blade. What. [hp=13/15]

"Ugh, kid, who gave you your training?" Yatusatari groaned, gripping Masamune's second grip and giving a powerful forward stab as the boy stupidly tried to attack with his fists, following up with a sideways swing that would probably bowl him over. "Kid, either draw your sword again or give up; I don't like fighting unarmed opponents," She said, looking worried. If he decided to keep going, though, she was keeping an eye on how badly he was being injured by her strikes; if he looked like he was getting weak, she'd switch to unarmed combat, but she didn't like having to fight a kid. Not at all. [Recap; Attack (Bladed) x Attack (Blunt) Honor's Burden/ x.5 & blunt knockback Bladed Weapon Trainee] [hp=20/20]

Masamune shot forward-- a stab. The boy saw the movement coming, saw it coming in Yatusatari's shoulder movements. He twisted, in the middle of his run, into a half-jump of some weird, improvised kind, and-- Oh dear. He fell down, back first-- where the sheathed blade was luckily protecting his back-- and the forward momentum kept his body moving for Yatusatari, where his raised foot shot upwards-- ...towards her face. [ Recap: Boy falls safely on sword, effectively attempting to knock in out of Yatusatari's hands, while the forward momentum keeps his boot aimed straight for her face. Happens very quickly, mind-- one jump, one roll with a loose boot: less than two seconds to figure what all out, I'd wager. ][hp=13/15]

(How that works is beyond me, but you die now.)
Yatusatari took a step backwards, keeping a firm grip on Masamune and grimacing. Just great. Don't say I didn't warn you, She thought, retaliating quickly with an upwards slash and a downwards blow with Masamune, the blade catching in the groundthat she used almost like a springboard, vaulting forward and lashing out with two quick kicks aimed at the kid's stomach, yanking her sword out of the ground after her and resuming her usual fighting stance.

Yatusatari's blows all met their marks. The boy, now a battered and bruised mess, laid limp on the floor. [7.75 damage rounded up to 8.]A moment passes. Then, the boy struggles to his feet, draws his sword-- a little haphazardly, though-- and resumes his stance. Phil and Herc seem to be in an argument about calling the Round done and over right then and there: "Phil, he's here, and he worked hard to get here, and he's still standing. I say we give him another minute or two--" " I do not want that kid's mom coming down here and tryin' to rip me a new one for her own boy's--" [hp=5/15]

"Kid, put your sword up and go home before you get hurt even worse! Your mother's going to have a fit to rival Hera if you keep this up," Yatusatari argued, keeping her fighting stance anyways. The kid had been crazy enough to try falling backwards onto her sword a first time; she was afraid he'd all-out impale himself if she held it in a way to attack him. If he came at her, she'd block and try to knock him out with a couple of unarmed attacks. She just hoped the kid wouldn't be stupid and decide to continue this.

"I--," the little Sephiroth coughed out, "I can't give up here! Not now." He adjusted his hold so he could wipe his brow. "I gotta-- I know I can make it in this world." he said. "But I won't, not if I can't do it on day one!" Whuh oh. The boy's brandishing the sword again. "I won't be like dad," he shouted, probably too much in too much determination to figure his dad was in the audience, " I won't be second best!" And then he fired a Fireball from the tip of his blade. "And you won't stop me!" he bellowed, gripping his newly fire-lit blade with an unhealthy amount of determination. Masamune's girth served its purpose in preventing anything but heat from passing it. She charged forward and stabbed downward with the blade, giving two kicks for good measure, in the case she missed with her sword. In either case, kicking him would knock him out rather than killing him by mistake; she didn't want something like that on her conscience. "Kid you've got a lot to learn if you think putting yourself in harms way is going to make you successful at anything. You can't do better than anyone if you're killed off."

Yatusatari's second kick didn't meet the boy's skin-- it felt as though stone or steel[/b] had been wrapped around her ankle in an unmovable-- and a little awkward-- position.
Herc raised an eyebrow as he loosened his grip a little. "I think the sword was enough."
He was right. The boy, from the downward stab, was bleeding quite a bit. That must have been the point where Herc charged out-- and, geez, the first kick just made things worse.
The boy was out. He probably wouldn't be up for a couple of weeks. The look on Phil's face promised Herc an I told ya so for later.
Herc let go of Yatusatari once he was sure she wasn't going to fall due to the awkward stance, swooped over and picked up the boy with no effort at all, and brought him over to the waiting medical professionals.
Yatusatari, meanwhile, was ushered back into the waiting room to wait for the next contestants to finish their rounds.
Little boy Sephiroth did zoom through the waiting room-- on a stretcher-- at one point, however.
But Yatusatari made it through the first round. Wipe your brow and be glad.

Phil's whistle just went off-- sounds like that's your cue. Yatusatari was ushered onto the field, along with what looked to be an 18-year-old boy. He looked a little worse for wear, but he'd managed to get through Round 1, right? ~ROUND 2~ --VIR-- [ Rookie Tournament Rules: ] Each Tournament Round will last for 7 rounds max. "Ugh... Let's get this over with," Yatusatari said, bringing Masamune to bare and charging forward. Two strong slashes came when she drew in range, followed up by two swift kicks and a jump backwards to put a bit of distance between herself and her new opponent. Well, hopefully this wouldn't be too hard.

Being swept off to the next arena without a moment's rest was a little... sudden. Of course Vir's next opponent was a little sudden as well when she charged with blade in hand. With the first slash, Vir rolled sideway dodging it and with the second slash using his own blade 'blocking' it but the force knocking him to his knees. Now dropped to his knees, the kicks came very quickly for his face that he didn't have time to react, taking the full beating.
While his opponent did back off Vir was force on his butt spitting the blood out of his mouth. He got up and pulled a little vial out from his pocket, giving it a little shake and chugging it down. It was nasty tasting.
While Vir felt a lot better he knew that she was serious, so he would have to be serious as well. He spat a little bit more blood and picked Stella up as he made a responsive charge dragging Stella on the ground going into a upper slash followed by a head-butt.
[hp=22/22]
[RECAP: Vir use Dodge Roll then following second slash, is knocked down taking 2 damage. While he takes Yatsuari's kick, taking 4 damage. With a little breather, Vir pulls out a Potion and drinks restoring 16 hp. Healed, Vir charges forward to attack with a upper slash and a headbutt with his Hard-Head.]

Yatusatari blocked the swing with the sword and dived to the side, skirting the headbutt and coming up a safe distance away. She darted in after him and preformed two quick kicks, followed by a downwards slice with Masamune and an upward swing from the massive blade's blunt side. She wasn't going down just yet.
