Appearance: Dante is mostly an average teenager, standing at 5’11” and weighing in at 160 Lbs with a medium frame. He has lightly tanned skin, thanks to the constant sunlight of the islands, which people think goes great with his hazel eyes. He has black hair that reaches down to the back of his neck and comes slightly over his eyebrows. Speaking of hair, he has quite the amount of hair on his legs, but it’s not a well known fact since he wears pants all the time. He has a muscular build that comes from playing ball and working out in general.
~Clothing~
Dante, as a student in the local high school, can usually be seen in his school uniform. This uniform consists of a plain white dress shirt, a blue tie with white and dark blue stripes, a pair of dark blue slacks and black loafers. Male students are also issued a belt with the same pattern as the tie. Dante usually keeps his sleeves rolled up above the elbows. During weekends, the teen can be seen in his more casual clothing.
This outfit consists of a tight, black, short-sleeved undershirt that reaches about an inch-and-a-half below the waist. Over this is a black and white vest that stops at mid-torso. Holding up a pair of slacking blue jeans are three belts, two white and one black. The black belt is used correctly, looping through each belt loop, while the other two are looped half-way and fall on their respective thigh, one on both left and right. The pant legs slack against his shoes, which are completely white with a red stripe running through the center and black soles.
On his right wrist is a white wristband with a black fist decal stitched onto it.
Personality:•General Persona: Dante is a very confident young man, believing in his abilities to a point where some would call him arrogant. As an athlete, he’s extremely competitive and likes to pit his skills against everyone else’s whenever he can. Even though he’s competitive, he knows when to call it quits. He’s quite energetic and can do things for an extended period of time, especially when he gets into an activity. This usually includes sports, but can also include games and sometimes even school projects. Dante’s a decently knowledgeable teen. He doesn’t usually skip on his studies and will immediately hit the books if he has a big test coming up.
•Inner Thought Process: The young man is aware of his surroundings and can notice things, like pencils dropping off of desks, or papers balls about to be thrown without any warning. This, like everything else the teen can do, goes to helping him in sporting events. His reflexes are pretty normal, though at times he can be a bit slower than usual. As a person, he’s kind-hearted, but can be devious on his own accord. Usually the newer people don’t notice his personality, but his slightly intimidating looks instead. It takes time, but these people get to know Dante best and become great friends with him.
•Fears: Losing streaks, being buried alive, being alone.
•Pleasures: Sports, sparring, hanging out. Enjoys watching the sunset by himself. Loves to lay in a boat in the water for about an hour, whether it be with a friend or by himself.
•Quirks: If provoked enough, Dante will come out swinging. He’s prone to some fights outside of school or related events.But With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

But Your History Decides Your Version of "Responsibility"
History: “Oh, honey. He’s so handsome.” Ashley Hyu looked at her child, then to her husband Ryan. Her eyes were beginning to fill with tears and soon began to leak, droplets streaming down her cheeks. Ryan looked down at his new son, relieved that his wife had made it through. The little boy was sleeping, calmer than the waves on a warm day at the beach. The wife brushed her finger across his face softly. Then, she gasped with excitement.
“My love, we haven’t named the child yet! Quickly, we have to come up with his name!” The parents went still for a moment, working their minds for a proper name. The husband piped in, “Well, you were having complications and both you and the baby endured the pain, so… Dante fits quite nicely.” “And how do you get Dante from all of that, hm,” the wife asked jokingly. Ryan laughed softly. “My father once said to me that his own father told his wife the same thing. I guess I’m naming him after my father, if you think about it.”
“I think it’s a lovely name. Yes. Dante Hyu. It rolls off the tongue quite nicely.”
~~~Childhood up to high school~~~
Dante had a decent life as a child. His parents had well paying jobs and they could keep up with payments. Dante got nice toys and playthings and was even enrolled in youth sports. He wasn’t a devious child, but he could get annoying sometimes. Simply put, he was a normal child with a normal life. Dante wasn’t a dumb child either. He got A-B Honor roll throughout most of his elementary life and hung around easily rolled into middle school.
Middle school was a much different experience for the pre-teen as he began experiencing what gaining and losing girlfriends meant and began to go through the long journey of puberty. He still kept his grades up, but his mind also started focusing on things that didn’t have anything to do with school. Again, he pretty much went through his pre-teen years like any normal boy would. He also began to play a popular ball game with his friends, which started taking time away from his studies.
~~~High school~~~
“Yo, Dante! Wait up, man!” Dante looked over his shoulder and noticed Ivan running up behind him. He stopped for him to catch up, grinning and waving to him. “Dude! You wanna hang with me and Laura tonight and go practice some ball at the court? No one’s gonna be there, so we won’t be interrupted.” Dante began to scratch at his chin, contemplating the decision. He hadn’t shaved for a week and he was starting to notice the tiny hairs beginning to pop up. “Well, it is a weekend. I guess I could use a bit more practice before the big game, so I’m up!”
The two boys gave each other a quick high-five and turned towards the road leading to the housing district. “So, Dante, how’s it going with what’s-her-name?” Dante chuckled and gave Ivan a soft punch in the shoulder. “Her name’s Fauna and you know that, you idiot. We’re doing well. I think we’ll be dating in a month, maybe two.” The two walked in silence for a few minutes before Ivan spoke up. “Laura’s gonna be the catcher and I already called the main thrower, so that leaves you as raider. Your favorite position, right?”
Dante was half listening as he stared towards the ocean to his right. Some trees obscured his view, but he still had gaps to see through. He didn’t give much of a damn for the conversation anymore. He was still going to give the dungeon a try, but he wanted to stand on the shores again. He wanted to take his boat out and just float in the waters until it got too late and his father would come out looking for him again. It had gotten to become commonplace for Dante to be out in the waters, staring up at the night sky. The shores would be the first place his father would check before going to his friend’s houses.
“Hey, Dante! You in there?” Dante looked over and nodded. “Sounds like a plan to me. I was just thinking about which plays I wanted to practice before we head out. By the way, are you coming to my sparring matches next weekend?” Ivan nodded and grinned. “Of course, Dante. I wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world! Besides, you’re my brother from another mother and you always do the same for me!” The two pounded fists and laughed for a straight minute before they got to the crossroads. This was where they always split.
“Hey, Dante?” The teen turned around and looked at his friend. “Yeah? What’s up?” Ivan took a moment to answer, but he finally did. “Do you… Do you think we’ll ever stop being best friends?” Dante and Ivan stood there, looking at each other, the sun setting slowly behind them. “Ivan… You and I will always be friends. I don’t care what happens. No woman or problem can stop us from being like brothers. I hope you believe me when I say that I will always be there when you need me. No questions asked.”
“Dante… I’ll always be there for you, too! Now hurry home so we can get that dungeon finished!” Dante gave a thumbs up and hurried home, not looking back, but Ivan kept watching and when Dante disappeared over the horizon, he spoke to himself. “If I could step out of my skin and be someone else, I’d choose you Dante, because I know you. I know that you’ll always be a good friend to me and whenever you make a promise, you always keep it. Thanks, Dante… Thanks.” Ivan turned towards his house and walked, because he didn’t want to wear himself out and get tired before practice.
~~~On the shore~~~
“So, can I watch it with you tonight?” “Sure.” She stood there in the breeze, her hair flowing softly behind her. “It’s so beautiful. I wish I never had to move, because I’d sit here with you and watch it forever.”
I opened my eyes. The waves, the sunset, the sky… it was all the same before I closed my eyes. I could smell the salty ocean breeze. It was the same before I held my breath. When I closed my eyes, I can picture everything the way it had been. The only thing that wasn’t there… was her. Every time I closed my eyes she appeared. Every time I opened them to see her and take her in my arms… she vanished. Her image teased me.
Ange… Angelique. I always thought that we would be together until we grew old, but her parents decided to move. I never got a reason why, but they just did. When the sun finally set, and the moon shined on the water and cast its reflection, I walked away. My memories of her… They came back every time I watched the sunset. I used it to make the bad times bearable. She made me happy… she made me calm. And every time I went out into the water and floated there, I could feel her next to me, sleeping.
I couldn’t stay here any longer. I have to go and get my raider arm-guards so I could practice effectively. I had to hurry, or else Ivan and Laura would come knocking furiously on my door.
