Many trees surround the clearing, and the sky can't be seen for the leaves. The only sounds are those of birds and the rustling of leaves overhead.

Malthus opened up his eyes. "What, is there a problem with enjoying the forest? Is that what you think?" Burning Horizon appeared in his hands with a flash and he pointed it at Sora. "I think you need a taste in manners courtesy of my sword! Or else you could leave like a coward, you know. Fight me!"

"Huh? I didn't mean..." Sora stammered, noticing that a sword of his own had appeared in his hand. He shrugged. "Well... okay, I guess I can, but I'm not gonna go easy on you!" He replied, swinging the sword to one side of him and charging forward, spinning the sword in his hand as he swung it upwards, catching it so that it was pointed diagonally downwards in his right hand, his other kept in a fist in case he needed to switch to unarmed combat. THWACK! Sora's blade would find nothing but the wood of the tree Malthus had been leaning against as the After Image of Malthus vanished. Malthus reappeared further off out of range of Sora's blades, Burning Horizon gone. "Hey, kid, try to keep up. I don't have all day to wait for you." He said as he cast Haste Lvl3. "Maybe you're hungry. Try having a KNUCKLE SANDWICH!" Malthus charged forwards, unleashing 12 quick punches at Sora's face. [hp=200/200] ((12 x 3 = 36))

Sora was a bit dazed, but that didn't stop him from retaliating at the strange kid. He swung his sword upwards, pulling a sweep kick directly afterwards, followed by a diagonal slash and a punch in the kid's direction. "What'd I say?!" was his only reaction. Malthus had to admit, this kid was somewhat good with a sword. He wouldn't admit that out loud though. "Well, in terms of body language..." He said, moving back after taking his blows. "You're just SCREAMING your incompetence with a sword!" He cracked his knuckles. "I do think I should just let you see how much you suck, though!" First, he tossed up 8 knives into the air with Falling Star. Next turn they would fall back down on Sora's head if he stayed still. Secondly, he jumped into the air, then jumped again with Impossible Jump Boost and Superior Jump Boost, beginning to concentrate at the peak of his jump as he began to prepare. [hp=178/200] |

Malthus began finishing his prepared spell as he fell back to earth, landing right after his knives did and right as the spell triggered, a Maelstrom forming. The giant rush of wind began whirling about the area, and the trees began groaning, Sora being lifted into the air. "You need to keep your temper a bit more grounded, I'd say!" He called out. "Maybe you should just give up and leaf!" The winds blew Sora towards one of the large trees as Malthus picked up his 8 knives and threw them into the wind, the winds blowing them towards him as well. "Wha...? Why are you making puns?!" Sora retorted, managing to twist out of the way of two of the knives. "Fine, I catch your drift," He said, throwing the sword at Malthus before he dropped to the ground. The sword flew through the air and was aided by the wind, whirling about around Malthus as Sora got in close, sending three strong punches in the other boy's direction. "Because I'm on a roll!" Malthus said, using his speed and Dodge Roll to avoid the three punches, while the winds deflected Aerial Raid each time it made a pass for him. "Though catching my drift won't do you any good..." He said, moving forwards and making a quick 20 punches at Sora. "...If you don't learn to catch other things!" Behind him, the winds broke off a large heavy branch from the tree above and sped it towards Sora.

"Back off!" Sora exclaimed, suddenly moving with much more dexterity and avoiding every one of the punches, even jumping over the tree branch like it was nothing. Then he struck, spinning his sword and bringing it into an upwards slash, following it with two punches of his own, his sky blue eyes holding a good deal of annoyance now. What a comeback! Malthus had not been expecting such accurate moves from the kid, though Haste Lvl 3 gave him enough speed to move back quickly, even though he did get hit. "I believe you can fly!" And the final thing he would do with Maelstrom was send a wind at Sora high into the air, then drive him back into the ground at high, painful speeds. He knew an attack was coming soon, so it was best to be ready, and when Sora landed, the strong windstorm would fade away as if it had never been there. [hp=161/200] |

Sora coughed a bit and pushed himself up, getting his balance again before charging at Malthus, stabbing forwards with his sword and following up with a quick jab from his fist,pulling another sweep kick and swinging his sword in an upwards motion, attempting to knock Malthus off balance.
