The night was dark. Through the overlapping branches of the trees there was the moon, and in the moon an outline of a castle could be seen. Inside that castle was a mirror and a rose. The rose glowed, but with every passing day its light faded and its petals died. The mirror had been laid on the same table that the rose stood encased in. Within the mirror pictures of the forest outside the gates of the castle were seen. Ivory colored fangs and blood red eyes could be seen running through the forest. Packs of them. Of wolves, chasing something. Then a brief image of a cloaked individual could be seen turning its almost as if to look at anyone who may look into such a mirror. However, these images were brief and the face of the individual could not be seen. The mirror seemed to turn back into what it was a mirror and reflected the face of whoever may look into it.
A single howl could be heard as the wolves continued to chase their prey.

[ O.O
RUNNING TIME! ]
The Beast huffed in the wake of the nightmarish scenario in which he found himself.
It was cold-- blisteringly so. Not even the waves of burlish brown fur rubbing against his skin could keep the edge of night from sending chills down his back.
He was on the run. The Beast felt the weight of a marathon's sweat caking across his body as his beastly eyes kept his path from the rocks and roots that came up far too often when off the beaten path.
He was carrying large piles of firewoo--
...
He promptly dumped the firewood, growling a curse at himself and the servants alike. This beast didn't care for the warmth of his companions.
This beast wanted to survive the night.
The Beast charged blindly forward, as far from the hungry breaths he heard around him, and from the faint paws beating against the dirt--
The hunter was on the run. [ Head's up-- Beast's got Classic Armor! Making sure you know! ]

There were five wolves in all. They seemed to have a plan, they were a pack after all. There were two behind him, about a good three or five feet or so, but they seemed to be gaining. Jumping over the pieces of firewood the Beast dropped they continued their pursuit. For the other three, there were two to either side of the Beast and they seemed to be closing in as well. For the last one, it couldn't be heard or seen through the forest. It was probably elsewhere in the forest, beyond ear and eye sight. They also seemed to be rounding the Beast away from his castle. Not good! One of the wolves behind him leaped the extra distance and went in for a bite to his left leg, the others continued to travel behind and around him. Wolves Behind [hp=21/21] [hp=15/15]

The Beast growled right back at the wolves. They were getting far too brave for their own good...
The Beast gasped as he felt teeth bear down on his ankle. [ Unknown damage to the Classic Armor! How much does the Beast lose today, Katsumi? ]
Rage dictated the immediate stop and reversal of motion. The Beast's massive weight immediately slammed into the ground, sending out a shockwave of sheer power.
The Beast used the unexpected Moderate Shockwave to his advantage, which beyond presumably sending the attacking wolf backwards.... might give him an opening from behind.
He charged for the second wolf behind him.
And he started to pound outwards at the wolf, intending to facilitate his escape.
[ Recap: Beast gets bit by wolf, unknown damage goes to Armor, Beast slams a Moderate Shockwave out to try and get the wolves off his trail, and then runs for the second wolf for a hit-and-run Pound. ]

[3 damage to Beast's classic armor.] All four of the visible wolves were hit with a shockwave that emanated from the Beast himself. However, the wolf that had jumped out to bite his leg managed to stay gripped to his leg however soon after the Beast ran towards the other wolf that had been behind him it lost grip. The wolf that the Beast ran towards was unable to take action due to the shockwave and received the full force of the Beast's pound. Wolves Behind [hp=14/21]

[ YAY NO WOLVES ON BOARD BEASTIE GETS TO LIVE ANOTHER TWO SECONDS =D ]Were the circumstances any better, the Beast would have risked a private smile at the sight of the pounded wolf's face. They weren't. The Beast took the opportunity-- gladly-- and made like the wind for higher ground, aiming to keep the wolves at a disadvantage until he could find shelter. He really didn't want to try and hold them off all night. The Beast snapped his tongue back into his huffing jaw but moments before the razor whites brung down their harsh, threatening guillotine. No sir, indeed. A bit dazed from still from the Shockwave the wolves managed to stand up and pursue their hunt. However, the beast seemed to be much further from them than before but they continued their pursuit, in hopes of gaining some dinner tonight. Their Alpha wouldn't be too happy with them if they did not return with no juicy meat for dinner and the beast was juicy alright. The wolf who had attacked the beast began to drool, for it had already tasted the beasts blood. They chased him again, this time one behind him. The others began to get lost in the shrubbery and trees.

The Beast's paws dragged in the dirt, sending dirt into the air, as the lumbering monster lurched to a halt.
Desperate blue eyes scavenged the landscape searching-- looking--
No.
Nothing.
The Beast roared.
But not so fiercely as his heart did, beneath the waves of brown, haggedy fur that swam across his body.
He would not go down without a fight.
He... he would not! [ BEAST VERSUS WOLF PACK, ROUND ONE, START! ]

As the beast halted so did the wolf that had been running behind him. It growled at the beast then lurched forward, sprinting towards the beast. Once close enough about two feet in front of the beast, it dug its hind legs into the ground and leaped forward into a full out jump towards the beast. As it did its mouth opened, showing its razor sharp teeth.
The other wolves soon joined the other wolf but this time they circled around the beast, watching as their companion went in for a leap. Another charged forward while the Beast was distracted and went in for a bite to his lower leg. They were planning to get him to the ground, though that would probably be a hard feat considering the beast's size. However, they had not seen anything worth eating and didn't want to risk going out of the forest.
In the distance however, there could be heard the hard rush of water. Like, a river or a waterfall. Maybe, if the Beast could get there he could loose the darn wolves? Wolf to Right [hp=14/21]

[hp=8/8] (Normal Girl Mode) "Francis my love...I will find you!" within that dark trecherous forest there were three distinct parties. A Beast whom sought firewood for his castle, a pack of wolves seeking their next meal, and a hopeless girl whom sought her true love. Wait, a hopeless girl out in the middle of the forest, at THIS HOUR?! Someone get this child back home, please! Well no such luck tonight I'm afraid, up in the trees and seemingly no way to get down was Mireille.
Garbed in a lovely green dress with a white corset at the bodice, apron mostly torn from attempting to climb the tree, and the edges of a blue cloak ripped (from the tree as well), was a beautiful young teenager. Of course one wouldn't be able to tell she was beautiful, for she masked her appearance with a thickly brimmed hood which was apart of the blue cloak. Was it mentioned it was a dark blue cloak? Needless to say, this girl was slightly up ahead the path from Beast.
She was trying to get a better understanding of where she was. Wondering the woods and all it's terrible pathways this late was known as suicide in the village but she didn't care. Provincial life meant nothing to her if she couldn't have that life with Francis. Yes, she was a girl on a mission, a regular Detective at this point. She was going to find Francis, confess her love and bring him home and by golly, if she could do it tonight, that'd be swell! Oh, so about that tree...yes well, she heard the sounds of rushing water. Everyone needs water to live and if you're going to make camp, that was the best place to do it. So as she desperately hugged the trunk of the tree, her delicate green dress shoes not aiding in keeping her balance, she attempted to survey the Waterfall(or possible river) and gauge it's distance.
Except for the fact that "behind" her was the sound of...snarling. Sounds like that meant wild animals! "What in the world, don't these things rest...oh no..." Oh no indeed, what would she do if she became victim of these creatures of the night? "I-I could use my magic...but I need it, to find Francis..." Fact of the matter was, magic was not unlimited. It was a limited power which she was only going to use in her pursuit of love. If she could avoid the creatures below, then more power to her. Though for the moment, she dare not turn around to even look in the direction of the snarls.

THIS NIGHT WOULD NOT BE HIS LAST! [/i] The Beast was one with the thunder as he threw his monstrous body into the lightning fast wolf, reaching out to grab it's mouth with his monstrous hand. [ First action: Palm Catch ] And he opened his mouth, with the wolf presumably still in his hand, and unleashed a roar unlike any other. The wolf was forced to look on, trapped in the Beast's steely paws, as the Beast gave the hungry animal a good, long look at the rows upon rows of canines, the reverbrating throat of this, this predator, and the undying, fearless beast that they had chosen to try and eat. Who was the hunter, again? [ Second action: Advanced Battlecry, with the first attacking wolf as the target for stillness ] But in this moment. This solitary, singular moment. The Beast had the privelege of noting the second attacking wolf. The Beast's right ear perked up slightly as the second wolf charged forward. And... The Beast stopped his roar short as he realized he wouldn't-- Nngn! --wouldn't make it in time! [ Unknown damage to armor! How much does the beastie get today? ] The Beast grunted in pain. And promptly leaned over and whacked the stunned wolf in his hands against the wolf currently biting his leg. [ Can we say Blunt weapon for this? If so, one Wounding Impact to two wolves! Otherwise, one normal attack to both wolves for 2 damage. ] ... And then he whacked the two wolves against each other again for good measure. [ Fourth action same as third! A half squeak, half growl emitted from the first attacking wolf as its mouth was actually caught in the Beast's monstrous hand. It would seem the wolf had perhaps underestimated the bulky beast that the pack had attacked. It whined as the beast roared at it, seeing its row of canines for the first time which struck fear in the wild dog like creature. Soon after, the defeated wolf lay limp in the Beast's hand.
The second wolf however managed to at least be a little successful by biting at the things leg. However, soon after it was struck in the side by its companion. But the wolf dug further into the Beast's leg [2 damage]. It was struck a second time and was tossed a foot or so away after losing grip on the Beast's leg (thanks to Wounding Impact).
As the wolf was tossed aside, a single howl echoed through the forest and seemed to be coming from the direction of where the water was. The two other wolves that had been surrounding Beast ran off in that direction. The other remaining wolf was unable to follow, due to be struck in the side with such force (Wounding Impact).
However, they were running in the direction of where a young girl sat/stood in a tree and was trying to find the source of the running water she had heard. Wolf to Right [hp=14/21]

Wolf Infront [Went in for bite] [hp=8/16]

[Three damage to Beast, which would go to his armor?]

(Normal Girl Mode) [hp=8/8] Just an ordinary girl...in an extraordinary world, just didn't quite apply to little Mireille. She was...an extraordinary girl in an extraordinary world! So then why was she stuck up in a tree, concerned about the inhabitants of the forest being awake? Simple. She couldn't be extraordinary for long, like any good asset, it could potentially deplete or diminish in value over time. For her, this was a very real fact unlike the Beast, whom lost his humanity as time went on.
Perfect opposites, meeting only by fate and in quite an interesting circumstance...assuming the Beast would give chase to those mean old wolves. AQctually, it was just behind the teen that was of concern. Up ahead she heard the howl of a creature of a night. "Wolves? Awake at this hour...it must be a pack. Oh no...I guess that was the Alpha Male? It doesn't sound too far up ahead, what should I do...?" the brunette questioned herself as she seemed to warily look behind her, then ahead of her.
When she looked behind her, she caught glimpse of the wolves running in her direction. Was it possible that they caught a sniff of her smell or would they continue to march up ahead to meet with what she presumed was their leader? Either way she broke down a branch from the tree and would launch it at one of the two wolves if they noticed her. If not, then she'd cling to it just in case as she tried to get more details about the water up ahead (any details you can give the poor lass, the better [if possible] my dear QM <3)

The Beast dropped the corpse.
He had no business beating dead animals.
...he closed his eyes.
Not yet... anyway...
He opened his eyes.
...he was alone! Beast's eyes quickly looked around, his shaggy fur billowing in the midnight light--
They had left.
They had left one behind.
...Beast looked down at the creature, no longer attacking as it was.
He squinted. Thinking...
And he turned away, charging for home.
Getting home was more important. In his weariness, however, he decided to take a shortcut past a river or waterfall nearby, having missed the Alpha Male's howl entirely in the heat of battle.
The Beast gruffed out a short wince of pain.
He was going to have to take a bath after all this. Do you know how long it takes to have a bath when you're covered in mangled fur?
Too long. [ Blarrrrgh. Forgive me! ^^;; ]

The wolf (as well as the dead wolf that Beast had been using as a beating stick!) were left behind. The wolf that had been left behind, was unable to follow Beast in his escape. It looked over at its dead companion, almost as if it was regretting attacking the Beast.
Yes, it seemed that the Beast was momentarily in the safe zone. But, what about the girl? Well, it seemed that the wolves didn't notice her at first. They had been reacting to their alpha's howl, running in the general direction that they sensed him. One wolf passed by the tree the girl was in, however as the second wolf passed its ears perked up. Almost as if it were alerted. Had it sensed her? It stopped for a moment, thinking. It sniffed the ground a few feet from the tree. It smelled something! Something..meaty. But, it couldn't figure out where it was. It raised its head to look in the direction the other remaining wolf had disappeared into. Should it follow suit, or investigate?
To the girl, through the branches she could see what was the running water she heard. About half a third of a mile away.
