No, I'm not referring to Sora or your party members.

Er-herm... I would like to propose another increase to the canon limit. Yes, I know, it's been done once, and probably not again, but I figure it can't hurt to ask. There isn't an over-abundance of canons like I know, and some from our newer releases don't even get to exist, but I also noticed that the people who take canons (read: me) tend to take several of them. The bigger number of canons members can take would probably mean more of a chance someone would take a plot-important character (Read: Hades), or a character needed on a world (i.e., Herc, both Jacks, Pan) for life to go on normally on that world.
And, another thing I've noted in my browsing of other sites, people like to have the ability to take multiple canons. Several sites I've seen around have a limit of four canons, and it works well for drawing in members; it gives them some breathing room to work with, they can make a canon and not feel like they're being hasty and throwing away one of their character slots.
And that's my case. Please note that the Shin-Ra Electric Co. is not responsible for any injuries and/or deaths caused by the opinions of its staff; thank you and have a pleasant day.

Well, we've concluded that this is a no-go.
Our reasons for this are that if we up this limit, you could have up to 9 potential characters. The thing is, DS is focused so much on story and character development that once you reach that point, you really are flipflopping between characters so much that you might not get to progress them enough. There's too much to work with.
Maybe if enough people agree with you on this suggestion it could change our minds.
Locked.
