Perdition settled down. She wasn't sure if Diana was telling the truth but at this point, poking more would be like digging into a wound rather than trying to heal it. She could probably do more harm than good. Still...
Ah well. Perhaps Payn-Payn was right. Perhaps she was stronger than that.
Not that strong was the right word to use in this context. Not at all. It wasn't... strength. Or rather, it wasn't entirely strength. It wasn't necessarily a good thing to jump back so quickly after surviving an experience like that one. Perdy knew. She had seen Payn stumble to his feet after suffering wounds that should have killed and she knew that in that unholy resistance he lost something. Something precious. Something that might have even been worth all the suffering and fragility of humanity.
But she let it go.
"Alright, whatcha thinking of? Friends? Family?" She waggled her eyebrows even as her brain sent out alarms going what the hell, weren't you concerned about the poor girl?! but the words came out almost without her willing it. "Your boyfriend?"

Diana was turning her head to look at the fire again but when that word came back up she had an uneasiness in her stomach. But she held it back, as she calmly talked about her memory.
No... not a boyfriend, it just that... I was five and orphaned. I... was with a group of other orphans and we stole food but this one time, I got seperated. I was cornered and I was about... to be beaten to death but I was protected by boy, he nearly died protecting but he did it anyways.

"Ahhhh," Perdition said, nodding knowledgeably although not particularly gracefully. "A hero. They're a dime a dozen until they start to wisen up. Then you discover what's wheat and what's just chaff."
"So, what happened to him? He stick around? Die? Disappear?" She let her imagination run wild. "Ooooh! Are you looking for him?" She frowned at that. "Naaah, you deserve better than a hero. They'll make your life miserable, trust me. Gods don't like heroes at all. Not the Gods on Olympus, anyway."

Diana though to herself that maybe Perdy was right, in the end he...
Left... He heard about a trainer and he... well... but I didn't want him to leave. He was the only one I could trust anymore. At least that was the case...
Diana wasn't really sure if she was searching for him, and even if she was it didn't matter because in the end she was left alone and... No this is too much, not something she wanted to remember. So she turned her head away trying to recollect herself.

Perdy realized that she had upset the other girl and tried to figure out a way to turn the situation around. It wasn't like she was Payn-Payn, bringing pain to the masses because she was a demon and reveled in it. She was a civilized sort! The type that brought joy and happiness to everyone before they were eventually destroyed by a force and power much greater than them.
"Aw, don't be like that. You're on your own at your age - you're independent! That's gotta count for something, huh? I mean honestly, men, who needs them?" She got up and dusted herself off. "Here, let's play a game. It's called truth or dare."
Truth be told, Perdy had never played it. "You go first."

She turned head back around and then faced Perdy as she said with a calmness...
True or Dare?

"Truth, of course!" Perdy said, smiling brightly.
She had nothing to hide after...
Oh waitasec.
Most people would definitely consider something like Payn-Payn a thing to be hidden. He didn't help matters when he went about slaughtering things because he hadn't had enough sweets.
Oops. But it wasn't like she could take it back, right?
Gosh darn it all.

This was something she never bothered to work with but maybe this could help better understand her 'passengers'.
Tell me who you really are.

"Weeeeell, that's a toughie," Perdy admitted. "I tell people that I'm not from this world. And to a certain extent that's true - no one's soul is from this place. No one's Heart either. But that's a different matter altogether."
"Now if you're asking who I really am on the inside, it's the same person I'm on the outside! Just, with a little twist: you see, I'm a the High Prophet of the Ones from the Outside. They're Old Gods, ones that slept and dreamt far before the Titans or Zeus and his ilk came into existence."
"And, uh, well, lessee. Fourteen or fifteen, female, human. I think that's about it."
"Soo..." her eyes sparkled. "Truth or dare?"

Diana just sat there looking at her... that felt really weird to hear. Most likely because nothing about that seemed true but what ever this was a game and that's it. Diana took a deep breather regaining herself again answered calmly...
Dare...

"Awww, you didn't believe me, did you?" Perdy huffed. "But alright, I dare you to..." and it was really simple but at the same time, for some reason, important to her. "I dare you to smile!"
The fire crackled as crickets began to chrip, their nighttime melodies adding to the atmosphere rather than detracting from it. Then again, Perdy was pretty sure she'd revise that opinion once she tried to go to sleep.
In the meantime, she watched Diana's face intently.

A... a smile? Was she serious... why showing her a smile? Well whatever the case it didn't seem hard to do... or maybe it was.
Somehow Diana couldn't really find a way to smile, if she forced it it would've felt weird. She turned away for a second to try and smile but each time she forced it it just felt weirder for her each time. Diana turned back around and gave a sigh...
I'm sorry... I just can't do it.

Perdy tried to hide how crestfallen she was. "Well, that's okay," the prophet said bravely. "Um. Well, I think that means that now you have to say a truth!"
"Hmmmm... okay. Tell me something you've never told anyone before! It can be anything! Your favorite color, a food you've always wanted to eat - anything! But it has to be something you've never told anyone."
She nodded to herself. That was easily doable, right?

Something she never told anyone else... was it really something worth telling? But in reality the only other person that knew about the was her Master and even he never wanted to talk about it, even though on those days when he was in a bad mood he would bring it back up like a bait on a hook. Well... I guess it wouldn't hurt so bad to let someone else know the truth.
I...
Wow this was going to be harder than she though but she was going to stomach through it.
When I left alone... after the boy left. I... I was chased down by some thugs... and... I'm sure... I was raped.
That felt really uncomfortable but she a least had it out in the open. But there was most likely a silence of awkwardness after she had said that.
((Now, now... before you get angry with me on this let me explain... if you read Diana thinks she was... that doesn't mean she was... But the point is that maybe later on I may do a quest that will reveal more truth behind both her past and her master... So yeah don't kill me please... XP))

"Oh!" Perdy said, her face flushing as she realized just what her actions before must have seemed like. False care, false comfort, false cheer - not at all what she had wanted to project. How complicated humans were! How marvelous. And at the same time...
"Oh Diana - I'm so, I'm so sorry." Impulsively, the girl grabbed the taller one and hugged her close. For a moment she was silent.
"Oh, I've been such a boob about this too. I didn't know, I swear I didn't know - and you were so patient too. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. We don't have to play this silly game." She lifted her face so that she could look straight into Diana's eyes. "You're really strong. Really, really strong. Not everyone," actually, almost no one, "would say that." [asdfadsfadsfd I am not used to such heavy topics in a KH role-play.]
