((XP Yeah sorry about that but hey... you asked for it.))
Diana didn't care for the fact that she was being sympathize, she was only relieved by the fact that she at least said it to someone else. And yet... there was still a heavy burden on her heart. Most likely because this was the wrong person to tell this too, but it couldn't be her master either. It had to be that boy... yeah it was him that she suppose to say it to... It was his fault, it was... no enough of that there was no point in trying to hold a grudge over something that's no longer important.
Diana felt the heaviness of sleep falling on her, so she got up and dusted herself off as she started to walk away.
Well... I'll be going to sleep now. Oh and Perdy...
Diana turned back around letting the light of the fire give her a soft illumination on her body and the stola.
Thanks for the company...
And with that Diana gave a smile... it was a forced smile, but it was soft and... honest, like she really meant it. But with that she turned herself back around and went into the tent to sleep.
((That's... so... emotional... T-T *sniff sniff... HONK*... tissue?))

Surely there should have been more to say or even think but the warmth that suffused her chest at the tentative smile blew most of the thoughts straight out. Perdition smiled warmly in return.
"You're very welcome," she chirped. "Good night, Diana."
She watched Diana go to her tent and then walked over to Payn-Payn, pillowing her head on his lap. He looked down curiously but didn't move to throw her off. The ward was long done.
"I think I did a good deed today." She told him solemnly.
He patted her on the head. "You can make up for it."
She didn't kick him. It was a close thing but in the end, a small laugh broke out instead. [ *accepts tissue*]

Just before the crack of dawn, Diana was already out with the tent already packed and as she ate a light breakfast and fed Virgil his meal while giving him a good brush.
The night before was riddle with dreams, some that were good, others that were bad, but they all had the boy in common. Everytime... everytime the boy was in her dreams she seemed to get closer to remembering and yet... she couldn't.
Virgil gave a jerk of his head, snapping Diana out of her though realizing that Virgil was done with his meal. She removed the bag and placed it back into the cart as she went back to tend to the fire as it was still a little chill.

Payn did not sleep. War never slept so neither did he. Occasionally he drowsed or dreamed but it was entirely optional for a demon. At the beginning it hadn't been - the shock of taking on a mortal shell had been enough so that he had been forced to adopt certain mortal frailties (he still had certain mortal frailties albeit much reduced) but sleep was not one of them. As he did not require sleep, he could observe the sleep of others.
He didn't. It wasn't particularly interesting. Perdy spoke every now and then, apparently to her mother who Payn knew to be dead. Perhaps a ghost? Lord Hades did not appreciate their existence but rarely seemed to do anything to discourage them. Payn, to this day, was not entirely sure what to do with them when he met them. Mostly he ignored them and they did the same for him.
The new girl - Diana - had woken early and seemed to be preparing for the road. An admirable disposition for any soldier although Payn was still not certain what to make of her. Certainly she had seemed rather weak yesterday although Perdition's needless worrying had turned out to be just that - needless.
"Will you be leaving without us?" He rumbled quietly, as the girl tried stoking up the fire. Perdition was still nestled in his lap, heated by the body warmth of a demon of war and flame she had been relatively toasty.

Diana didn't think she was going to be the only one up that early so hearing Payn made her jerk a little bit. Diana shook her head and tended to the fire. It was a good two minutes when she finally had a little flame. She warmed herself up a little bit and walked over to Payn.
Diana looked him over several times, noting that Perdy was there in his lap. The sight of it seem to make her a little jealous but when you're sent out to do things by yourself most of the time you begin to feel that need for company, so she did have a right.
So... How... did you two meet?

Diana apparently didn't think his question worth answering or perhaps she had already answered it. Payn had seen it before - questions answered without vocalizations. It was a curiously mortal thing to do.
"I was looking for Asala," he said, matter-of-fact. "Perdition is looking for the Old Ones. We travel together." Recalling the lie: "As actors."
The story was actually a lot more complicated than that and involved a witch turning him into a frog and then back into his original state and then finally (possibly accidentally) into a powerful sorcerer at the expense of his warrior's disposition. Perdition had been turned into a bird and then nearly killed and now they were bonded to each other at the level of souls. She had gained a little immortality and he had gained a little mortality.
But, frankly, the whole affair was embarrassing beyond measure and Payn preferred not to dwell on it too much.
Or at all, really.

I see...
Again this seem pretty odd but that didn't matter, Diana looked down the road and towards the rising sun. Then turn her attention back to Payn.
We could head out now... You can put Perdy in the back of the cart, I don't feel like waking her up.

"Ah," Payn nodded. Others might have noted her kindness. He merely found the action convenient: Perdition could be noisy. It filled the awkward silences but it could be something of a hassle to deal with when he wanted to do nothing more but enjoy the company of his own thoughts.
Getting up, he must have jostled her for the girl woke anyway.
"Ah - hey! Woah! MORNING DIANA! MORNING PAYN-PAYN. I GOTTA GO TO THE LITTLE GIRLS' ROOM. BACK IN A FLASH!"
And then she got up, dusted off her dress and went to the 'little girls' room' which seemed conveniently everywhere and yet secret and mysterious for she forbade Payn from ever entering it on pain of turning him into a little girl. Such a fate was not one he would enjoy so he kept himself rooted firmly on the spot.

((Ya want to end this pretty soon? Because I feel like we need to end it.))
How quickly that girl could move was surprising, but she guess if she need to go then she would need to go. There was a moment of nothing to do but go back to the fire and smuther it out. With this moment her mind wander as she remembered all the dreams or rather... the memories.

"All done!" Perdition said brightly, re-appearing from wherever she had gone.
Payn raised an expressive eyebrow.
Or lack thereof.
"Let's get going then," the demon growled.

[Ummm, should we end it now or wait until they get to the city??]

((I was thinkin when we got to the city, I have some final words to say with Diana that I want to be epic.))
And so off they went, making small conversation here and there, until some time after high noon, the shape of a city came into view. Diana gave a sigh of relieve knowing that she had finally made it. Diana started going through her mental list of what she needed to take care while in the city as Virgil pulled the cart slowly to their destination.

Ack! A city! And so soon! Time had just flown by, Perdition wasn't sure what they had spoken of but - like usual - she had filled in about eighty percent of the blank silences. At least Diana was more talkative than Payn - Payn could be real quiet when he felt like it. Perdy quite suspected that the big lug was ignoring her, curse his bones.
"I guess this is where we part ways," Perdy said sadly, hopping off the back of the cart.
She needed to disguise Payn-Payn before they entered town and it wouldn't do for someone nice and honest like Diana to get muddled up into the affairs of prophets and demons. She'd be much happier doing what she did...
Possibly. Diana didn't seem all that happy. But Perdy was sure, with the optimism that came with delusion, that Diana would be fine.[/blockquote]

Diana nodded her head in agreement, she could guess why they would want to get off before entering the city what with Payn's appearance and all. She pulled on the reins bring Virgil to a halt. She got off as well and stretched her limbs out. It was going to be nice going into the city, surrounded by people.
Perdy... I want to thank you again for joining me on the trip here. And also...
The memories she 'removed' came back to her faguely but she knew they saved her from the bandits. She felt it was only right to at least thank them for that in particular.
Thanks... for saving me last night. If... you two weren't there I... I don't know what would've happened. This reminds me of...
The entire thing just seem to remind her of a lot. How her master saved her, the times her Amazonian 'sisters' saved her, but most of all it reminded her of... Vir... Vir... that's his name. The boy his name is Vir.
After so many years, she finally could a name to a memory. But did it matter anymore, she was left alone to only be heard by deaf ears.
But I guess... it doesn't matter anymore, it's kind of releiving to remember now don't you think?

Perdy put a hand to her chin, trying to appear wise as she discretely checked whether or not the village had spotted Payn-Payn. As she saw no approaching mob with pitchforks and torches (it was amazing how often one ran into pitchforks, even if the village had nothing to do with farming) she decided that they were still safe.
Not that she would have left Diana, mind. It would have just taken her a little more planning for everything to go off without a hitch.
"Don't worry about the save - it's what we do!"
Blatant lies. But she could get used to the hero business. There was something deeply satisfying about saving people.
It also didn't hurt that no one complained about dead bandits. Or would-be rapists. Such people tended to lead miserably short existences that were probably more loathed than Payn's. Payn could still be - on a good day - considered a worthy foe. Bandits and so on were mooks. Fodder. No one gave a rat's behind about them.
"Yeah, I think so. And if we meet this Vir, I'll pummel him for you! Give him a good drubbing! Leaving you alone after all that - what was he thinking!"

Diana shook her head to that last thing. She was being honest that it didn't matter anymore. But if she ever did meet him again... there was no telling if she would even recognize him. But again... it didn't matter.
Diana actually did something that she would never do, but it only felt right, as she walked toward Perdy and gave her a hug while whispering one final thank you before she returned back to the cart looking at Payn this time and gave him a simple wave as she lightly whipped the reins to getting Virgil moving forward into the city.
[Exit Diana]
((I want to thank you Nine for the good RP, this at least allow me to 'rebuild' and get more caliberated with Diana and I'll keep in mind that the next time I add enemies in, they'll need more health. Lol, anyways Thanks for the Good 5 page Thread WHOOP! ^u^))
