Suddenly, Malthus would find him in a great chamber with a thin walkway circling a huge pool of lava. With little provocation, two massive claws burst from the molten liquid, heaving up a massive plated body much like a scorpion, a single vicious eye of green glaring from beneath armored eyelids. The monster roared and swung a massive claw at Malthus, aiming to crush him against the stone walls of its volcanic domain. (10 damage if hit, 20 if pinned against the wall.)

"HOLY-" Malthus jumped out of the way as the claw slammed past him. That was too close! It was obvious what the weak point of the monster was, though, now that he got a good look at it. "That is one big eye." He muttered. "Time to blind the thing." He threw one of his knives at the claw that the monster was hopefully still looking at, activating his Blinding Impact bracelet. With that, he decided to get on the other side of the monster rather than going for the eye now. With his Miracle Runner ability, he dashed across the lava, running all the way to the other side of the room. It was time to be ready for this. [hp=400/400] |

Malthus' Blinding Impact surprised the great beast, electing an enraged shriek and preventing it from seeing where its prey had gotten to. However, Malthus would quickly learn that making a giant scorpion monster living in a pool of lava angry was a terrible idea. The monster slammed its massive claws down at its sides, multiple legs flailing in its temporary blindness. The impact of the claws sent molten rock flying to the sides of the room, directly at Malthus as the beast turned, very very angry and using its great claws to scrape along either side of the wall and search for its prey. [Lava does ten damage, and another five the next turn.] [hp=150/150]

Malthus quickly jumped up with his Superior Jump Boost up over the lava, ready to counterattack while the thing was blind. With his Impossible Jump Boost, he dive-bombed towards its face. If he landed, he would immediately do as many punches as he could possibly do straight in the eye, as fast as possible and undoubtedly painful. [hp=400/400] ((Four Flash of Fists.)) |

The great beast gave a terrible roar, slashing one of its claws at its own face, eye closing before the impact and, if nothing else, sweeping its assailant off. Ghoma whirled to face Malthus, roaring and slamming down both of its mighty claws to block off his route of escape before unleashing a torrent of flames from its maw.
