<Hope you don't mind I added on to the last one. I just feel that the doing paperwork is as much a part of his advancing as making the deals vocally is, so... Yeah. Enjoy~>
The sounds of pen on paper were what filled the study of Ansem the Wise this day. The man’s brown eyes quickly skimmed what he had written before for errors before moving to the next section. Being the leader of an entire world was no simple task. Many things had to be done, many more overseen, and many stopped before they delved too far. Of the last he had, thankfully, little to deal with save slowing the mining of the Maw for benefit of the land. Of the first two, however, a large number had been appearing recently. Work requests from businesses wishing to lease land of the newly claimed world Radiant Garden oversaw; increased production of ships for travel between the worlds. A brief flourish and this form in particular was finished, ready to be sent out. Ansem leaned back and rubbed his tired eyes. It was difficult work, managing the affairs of what was now two worlds. But he would not trade his position for any other. It was true that, with the Storm, and the discovery of the new world Traverse Town, his workload had increased tremendously in the form of leases, requests, and the like. But it was also true that, at the moment, there were few who were suited to the task of making compromises that benefited not himself or any one man, but the whole of Radiant Garden, and now Traverse Town until it was mature enough to create its own governing body.
But soon, the work orders would slow and the ship production would fall into a steady pace; then, some normality would return to the Bastion, that he was sure of. Guilt had plagued Ansem the Wise these past two weeks; guilt for not having been prepared enough for such a situation as the Storm. Guilt for the deaths of several of Radiant Garden’s citizens. Guilt for the businesses and dwellings ravaged by monsters. And guilt over not having spent much time with his daughter as of late. She understood why he had become so busy, but he still regretted the lack of interaction. Ansem the Wise sighed and picked up his pen once more, his hand seeking out the next of the requests to come through. Ah… the last one for now. Perhaps his work would be done sooner than he expected. An excellent turn of events indeed, he decided, a satisfied smile coming to him. Perhaps he would finally get some time to make up for his absence in his daughter’s life. She had told him just a few days ago about an ice cream stand she and her friend had found… though how she had done so without anyone knowing was beyond him...
Yes. That was a wonderful idea. It had been quite some time now since he himself had gone to have ice cream. And, for that matter, it had been a few days since he had trimmed the golden beard he sported. Ansem paused for a second, feeling the longer-than-usual hay colored hair below his chin before he started to laugh. Oh how easily such habits could be forgotten after a near-disaster like the Storm. He should have known better than to let it get this long. Ansem shook his head, returning his mind to his work. But yes, he would follow through on that idea as soon as he was finished with this last request from the worker’s union. This ordeal would be finished swiftly enough, he was certain now; he would make sure of it, for the sake of his daughter and the sake of all Radiant Garden’s citizens…

The open air of Radiant Garden was much more enjoyable than the confines of his office. The paperwork part of Traverse Town’s colonization was finished; today was the meeting with the minds behind such. He had arranged a meeting in the gardens outside the Bastion, where he waited now. Eventually the group came, and the discussions went quickly. Ansem was interested in the colonizing of Traverse Town for two primary reasons, among others. The first was in the interest of business; there could only be so many in Radiant Garden at one time, after all. The second was a more interesting prospect; it would serve as a hub to explore and to learn about other worlds. To think of all the possibilities available if the worlds could collaborate… it was too big a prospect to merely ignore. Alliances formed throughout the worlds could be of great use to the citizens of other worlds that may be out among the stars; the spread of technology and information, of customs, everything. It was exciting to think of.
“Thank you very much for your suggestions, gentlemen,” Ansem said, his sharp eyes picking up every detail on the blueprints presented to him. A small initial settlement, plenty of room to add on to. The only thing vaguely out of place was a research center to be built on the outskirts of the initial settlement. Something of his own design, but more of a library than an actual research center. A place to store that collected knowledge in addition to the Bastion's own library. The only true research center there was another building, requested by a Moogle in which to design more efficient Gummi Ships. Another idea he supported, so he had requested that be added as well. Tedious though the paperwork for Traverse Town had been, to see the actual plans for the city and the image it conjured made Ansem decide it to be entirely worth the work.
“I’ll be eager to visit Traverse Town when its construction is completed. I should think our business to be concluded for the time being, unless you have anything else to consider…” He waited for a moment, and received mumbled statements expressing that they willed no changes. Ansem smiled and rolled up the plans before handing them back. “Wonderful. I shall eagerly await your reports. I hope you have a pleasant day, gentlemen,” He gave a brief bow to the men (And one moogle) that had met with him before moving to return to the Bastion. Now that the paperwork and the finalizing of the plans was done, the truly difficult part of the venture was here; waiting for the results. He smiled at the thought; having to await results was the one thing he disliked about being a scientist, and yet so much of his time consisted of it. But he had something else on his mind as well; collecting his daughter and enjoying at least a part of the day with her. With his business concluded for the time being, unless something else came up, today was a lovely day to enjoy a scoop of ice cream…
