Alright, question time!
Now, assuming that you have purchased a summon and it can make clones or illusions like Perdy, when the summon is either killed or dismissed before the clones or illusions expire, do the clones or illusions stop functioning?
Now if we take the clones to be extensions of the caster, this should indeed be the case and there's an even greater case to be made for illusion magic which depends on the caster's imagination. If, however, we treat these clones/illusions as generated effects (like buffs or status effects) they should probably persist.
Clarification would be appreciated before Perdy kicks the bucket!
Edit: Actually, you know what, in the interest of noticing that the - gasp! - enemies could do this too, instead of just summon make this question address everyone.
