This is essentially just an expansion on the old profile. Everything is the same, just beefed up a little. As far as the Laguna business... he's hardly mentioned. I was just too lazy to come up with a different name, though I suppose I can change that if I absolutely have to.

As a matter of fact, though he is most assuredly not the type to seek out the attention of women, he has a tendency to keep up a well maintained, positive appearance about him, more to assist in people acknowledging him as their protector than anything else. And though this may seem a vain, petty thing to do, it really isn't that devious - he simply enjoys making the idea of viewing him as a positive, important member to Radiant Garden's society, and looking all haggard and gross would be rather counter-productive. His hair hangs down to his upper back, rather sleek and hanging pin-straight, with a pair of light blue eyes that have a tendency to appear as though he's glaring at people, even when he isn't. This, when accompanied by the fact that he's rather toned and athletic, makes it little wonder that he's something of a hero around the city.
As far as clothing goes, though he owns several different outfits that he has no problem whatsoever with switching between, there is one in particular that he is most commonly found in. This consists of a black, short-sleeved jacket that hangs down to his ribcage, with a scarlet lion insignia adorning each of his shoulders, and a similarly coloured pair of wings etched into the back of it. Around his left wrist sits a set of three brown buckles, each an inch or so apart and running up his forearm, a pair of black leather gloves accompanying them. Along with this are a pair of pants, with three buckles taking the place of pockets and zippers running all the way down each side. Holding these in place are a set of three belts, all held in place by a single buckle in the center. Lastly are his shoes, which also incorporate zippers to hold them closed, for some strange reason. Squall Leonhart is the son of a woman that sought to raise him as best she could, despite the fact that his father wasn't around - she taught him that the world was a fantastic place and that he should do all that he could to enjoy it, regardless of how bad things might get. And as a result, this has shaped a large part of who he is. So long as the action in question won't go against his morals or against his ultimate goal of keeping the Princess and his other friends safe, he's an incredibly laid-back guy, and enjoys nothing more than just hanging out with his friends and generally having a good time. Staying somewhat optimistic and enjoying the more positive aspects of life are paramount to him, and though he may not be very obvious about it, more due to his rather quiet, minute manner of speech and action than anything else, it's true that he's lived a very happy life, until very recently, and remains quite happy despite recent events, so long as he doesn't think about them too much.
When it comes to certain topics and activities, however, Squall can be a bit of a stick-in-the-mud. He's all for just relaxing and lounging about with friends, but if doing so would mean pushing work to the wayside, or putting any of them in danger, he can be quite frustrating. In a way, it's as though he puts on a 'face' - though most of the time, he's that silent, enigmatic type that just sits back and watches as his friends gallivant around the city, when it comes to his work as a guard or the safety of those he cares about, he's suddenly a deadly serious individual. Also, once he sets his mind to something, he is not the type to feel accomplished until the task in question is completed to the absolute best of his ability - whether this means continuing to fight, even when things aren't looking very good for him, or whether it means staying up at all hours of the night until his task is finished is irrelevant. Him and work have an unbreakable bond, and there's little to no chance of that ever changing.

This also comes hand in hand with his greatest fear, which he has actually been forced to face with the somewhat recent attack of the Anomaly - the fear of failing. The fact that he froze up in the face of danger, and nearly lost his life because of it, has changed him, in a way. And this experience has just made him want to protect everything even more - it's kind of ridiculous.
It's worth noting that, as a result of the invasion of Radiant Garden by the Anomaly several months ago, Leon's personality has changed rather remarkably. He is much more reserved, focusing further on defending and protecting his city, as if to make up for his failure to defend it in the first place. Hanging out with his friends and generally enjoying life are things of the past, and he's far more focused on being the guardian that his city needs. For now, at least.

Despite the rather misleading name, the Gunblade has no ranged combat capabilities whatsoever. Rather, it is more a sword with some gun-like capabilities, though Squall is not yet adept in the use of it to its fullest potential. Squall's particular Gunblade of choice consists of what appears to be the handle of a revolver, trigger included, serving as the hilt. Black in color, with a silver chain dangling from the bottom of it that is adorned with that same lion insignia that is ever present whenever Leon is concerned, the hilt meshes seamlessly into a long, silver blade, just as sharp as the swords of any other adventurer out there, really. About as long as his leg and engraved with a full-sized version of his lion insignia, the weapon is incredibly rare and unique to Squall - its sort of his namesake, really.

Laguna Loire was notorious throughout Radiant Garden for being something of a hopeless romantic - he was never all that successful in wooing those women that he set his sights on, mind you, but he tried nonetheless. He flirted with women recklessly, with no reluctance whatsoever, unaware that he was fated to be with one woman in particular - a woman by the name of Raine Leonhart. It was a classic story, the way the two met - he was heading into a tea house, sights set, incidentally enough, on a different woman altogether - one look at Raine, however, oblivious to the fact that there was a man staring at her in awe, and he gained an inexplicable leg cramp and a desire to just talk to this woman, even if she were to shoot him down. Somehow, he succeeded in entertaining her, that one meeting leading to another, and another, until it got to the point that the two were an 'item.' It was as a result of this relationship that, not long after, they were married, and were given what both of them truly wanted - a beautiful baby boy that, though they were unaware of it at the time, would grow into a man with an inexplicable hero complex.
He was the perfect little boy, in truth - he was quiet, didn't put up much of a fuss even when things got hectic, as they tended to on occasion, what with the many clashing personalities within the city, and remained this way as he grew older. He made friends, yes, but was never the one to initiate contact, and never the type to talk all that much, even when around those that he considered to be his friends. It was clear from the moment that he learned to speak and walk, however, that friendship wasn't meant to be the sole love in his life - even at that young age, he knew that he wanted to be a knight. To protect the castle and its inhabitants with his life, no matter what it took. Barely six years old, and he was already fashioning himself makeshift armour from a combination of construction paper and a whole load of tape - this, accompanied by a thick, wooden sword, given to him as a birthday gift from his father, completing the image. In particular, his work as a 'knight' back then revolved around protecting a little girl notorious for dressing in pink that lived nearby. In truth, she was his best friend, the damsel in distress in his little stories, and the one that he enjoyed cookies and milk with nearly every day.
Even if he was just a kid back then, it was clear that he was meant to be a protector, even if it meant fighting off imaginary dangers to protect his best friend. He was something of an imaginative young man, seeking out 'dangers' to face even if his best friend was busy - breaking chairs that he imagined were dragons, building and painting the pillows in his house into 'stone fortresses' that he could retreat into at will. It was his dream to be a knight, and that was a dream that he achieved rather early on in his life. Even though he was only thirteen years old, and was hardly a teenager, he knew that his days as a knight that fought the imaginary were over - he had grown out of them, and, paper armour and wooden sword left forgotten in his closet, he honestly felt rather useless. He was the type that needed a purpose, at all times. Something to keep himself disciplined and on task. This something came rather quickly, in the form of an open call for young, hopeful individuals to undertake an extensive training to eventually become protectors of the castle and its residents.
To become real knights.
It was the only logical step, and he took it without hesitation. He was by far the youngest, the scrawniest, and the least physically imposing of the bunch, but of all of them, he showed fierce determination and a desire to prove to his teachers, his parents, and most importantly, himself, that he could succeed. Yes, the work took up most of his time, long hours spent in lessons and yet more spent training on his own, but he did what he could to ensure that he was devoting time to his friends and family as well. After all, if he abandoned them, and left them to fend for themselves, there would be no one for him to protect - more assuredly, they'd want nothing to do with some workaholic that didn't seem to want to spent time with them. It was through this training that, though he was still young, Squall grew up quite quickly - he was a man by the age of fifteen, and was trusted with the task of protecting the young princess despite his age. It was a huge responsibility, and one that, in all honesty, Squall took quite lightly at first - after all, she was a young girl. What trouble could she honestly get into?
Quite a bit, apparently. Particularly when a kunoichi, came along and started teaching her these terrible actions and habits that generally involved sneaking out, away from her guard, and out into the city. He was worried at first, more shocked at the fact that he had failed to keep her within his sights than anything else, and was on the verge of having a freaking conniption and vowed to ensure that she would never leave his sights again, chasing the ninja off and informing her that returning to the castle would not be a good idea. And yet, it happened again. And again. And again. It was quickly apparent that keeping the Princess cooped up wasn't going to be easy. Regardless, as the years passed, he formed a close friendship with the princess and a tolerance for the ninja, managing to get used to the fact that they were going to go out on adventures whether he liked it or not - though this acceptance didn't come without the aid of his best friend. His nerves stayed intact and friendships that were quite strong were formed within the group, much to his delight - he had more than just his one best friend, finally.
Along with these friends, he was present when the Anomaly attacked the Garden suddenly, unexpectedly, tearing through their ranks and generally causing large amounts of havoc before being thrashed and sent away. And though many rejoiced that the city had managed to evade total destruction, Squall was irrevocably changed. He had frozen up in the face of real danger, and if not for the assistance of another one of the Garden's residents, he likely would have lost his life - this failure gave way to quite a bit of contemplation and reflection, only made that much worse with the discovery that his mother had perished while attempting to fend off the creatures, and that his father was nowhere to be found. It was this failure that caused him to come to the conclusion that Squall was a tarnished name that he no longer wanted to be associated with. Several months were spent travelling the Garden and fending off Heartless and other threats, all the while hoping to find proof that a new beginning would be the best thing for him.
One particularly nasty fight that led to him gaining a scar across his face pushed him over the edge - quite recently, he has come to the decision to go solely by the alias of "Leon", both because it was a part of his surname, which was not entirely sullied, and because it was reminiscent of the idea of a lion: a fearless, powerful creature. Though this whole 'change of name' thing is something that the residents of the Garden might just have a bit of trouble growing accustomed to.[/COLOR][/FONT][/SIZE][/BLOCKQUOTE]

After all, if he abandoned them, and left them to fend for themselves, there would be no one for him to protect - more assuredly, they'd want nothing to do with some workaholic that didn't seem to want to spent time with them. It was through this training that, though he was still young, Squall grew up quite quickly - he was a man by the age of fifteen, and was trusted with the task of protecting the young princess despite his age. It was a huge responsibility, and one that, in all honesty, Squall took quite lightly at first - after all, she was a young girl. What trouble could she honestly get into?
Quite a bit, apparently. Particularly when a kunoichi, came along and started teaching her these terrible actions and habits that generally involved sneaking out, away from her guard, and out into the city. He was worried at first, more shocked at the fact that he had failed to keep her within his sights than anything else, and was on the verge of having a freaking [i]conniption[/i] and vowed to ensure that she would never leave his sights again, chasing the ninja off and informing her that returning to the castle would [i]not[/i] be a good idea. And yet, it happened again. And again. [i]And again.[/i] It was quickly apparent that keeping the Princess cooped up wasn't going to be easy. Regardless, as the years passed, he formed a close friendship with the princess and a tolerance for the ninja, managing to get used to the fact that they were going to go out on adventures whether he liked it or not - though this acceptance didn't come without the aid of his best friend. His nerves stayed intact and friendships that were quite strong were formed within the group, much to his delight - he had more than just his one best friend, finally.
Along with these friends, he was present when the Anomaly attacked the Garden suddenly, unexpectedly, tearing through their ranks and generally causing large amounts of havoc before being thrashed and sent away. And though many rejoiced that the city had managed to evade total destruction, Squall was irrevocably changed. He had frozen up in the face of real danger, and if not for the assistance of another one of the Garden's residents, he likely would have lost his life - this failure gave way to quite a bit of contemplation and reflection, only made that much worse with the discovery that his mother had perished while attempting to fend off the creatures, and that his father was nowhere to be found. It was this failure that caused him to come to the conclusion that Squall was a tarnished name that he no longer wanted to be associated with. Several months were spent travelling the Garden and fending off Heartless and other threats, all the while hoping to find proof that a new beginning would be the best thing for him.
One particularly nasty fight that led to him gaining a scar across his face pushed him over the edge - quite recently, he has come to the decision to go solely by the alias of "Leon", both because it was a part of his surname, which was not entirely sullied, and because it was reminiscent of the idea of a lion: a fearless, powerful creature. Though this whole 'change of name' thing is something that the residents of the Garden might just have a bit of trouble growing accustomed to.[/COLOR][/FONT][/SIZE][/BLOCKQUOTE]
