Welcome to Thebes.
A bustling city, where proud, towering marble can meet searching eyes at every turn, where the sight of foot passengers bustling past in what at first sight may appear to be a focused effort to step on every last inch of the macadam between here the the distant Mount Olympus, that close and powerful presence leaning over the city itself as an iconic landmark in all the land.
This is why the world of Olympus Colieseum is referred to as such outside the world's reach.
But sightseeing isn't on the day's to do list.
Mickey has one week to find this Bergeron person-- the contr, er, THE AGREEMENT called him an Olympian, if memory recalls-- and get him outside the city at twelve noon on any of those days.
Right now... a quick peek at a helpful sundial nearby shows it's already past noon today.
Mickey has a lot of options for the day-- try to find out more about this strange, new world, start looking for Bergeron... maybe find a place to sleep?
[ Bold Objectives are Primary Objectives, and must be completed to pass the Quest. Others are Secondary Objectives, and can be completed in the hopes of a better reward at Quest's close. ]Locate the Olympian BergeronIf Hades, God of the Dead, knows the name of this fellow, it wouldn't be surprising if someone else around here knows where he is. It might make for a good start.Make Satisfactory ProgressRemember that Hades will be checking in every once in a while! If you don't make satisfactory progress in time for one of the surprise check ups, you'll have to do some fast talking to convince Hades not to break THE AGREEMENT.Hide Your Undead StatusIt'll be hard to find the Olympian and convince him to leave town for a few minutes if half of Thebes knows a dead mouse is running around. Not impossible, but definetly hard.
[ Just to clarify some of what I already said:
Mickey is allowed to partcipate in normal RPs in Olympus Coliseum while this Death Quest is taking place. The timeline of those RPs will be within the week Mickey's attempting to locate Bergeron.
Despite being dead, normal HP rules are in effect!
Though in the RP, Mickey has a week, the duration of the actual Quest is, as per the norm, more flexible. However, as a Death Quest, the QM in charge (yours truly this time around) must post once every two to five days-- if you don't reply to a post within 48 hours, I can post again, lowering the amount of IC time left to complete the Quest any time in the next three days.
Of course, I won't start harassing you with every two day posts unless five day waiting periods start becoming suspiciously regular. xD
This is the norm for all Death Quests, not so unlike Storm Days (OH GOODNESS I HAVE SOMETHING ELSE TO DO AFTER THIS), and I'm putting it up more as a disclaimer than as a threat. xD
The Quest will play out in two parts:
The first part will be to locate Bergeron. It'll consist of, as Crazy puts it, holmsey-style investigation and exploration, and a large amount of interaction with NPCs.
The second part will be convincing Bergeron to leave town at noon. There'll be a lot of conversing going on during this part, trying to familiarize yourself with Bergeron and how to get him to think leaving town for an hour or so is a good idea.
All the while, Hades or any minion of his is liable to pop in and check up on you.
Ehh, won't be the easiest Quest you've been on, lemme tell ya. You're going to be relying on word strategies more than battle strategies as a result of the task Hades has given you.
Now, let's get this Quest started! ]

To say that the situation King MIckey was presently finding himself in was a dire one would perhaps be one of the greatest understatements since the beginning of time - for all intents and purposes, he had lost everything that was dear to him. His castle, his loved ones, his life. Anyone else would have likely curled up into the fetal position and bawled their eyes out, believing that there was no joy left in the world. And though he was rather upset at the fact that he had been so unceremoniously tossed from his home, Mickey was ever the optimist - even in the face of so much loss, so much adversity, he was managing to see the brighter side of things. Yes, he was in an unfamiliar place, doing a task for a clearly manipulative deity, but it was the fact that he was actually getting the chance to experience being on another world, a notion that was only approached every once in a blue moon, the existence of other worlds not having been proven until the foreigners had arrived to help fend off the Anomaly. It brought a smile to his face, gaze moving this way and that, taking in the entire place as quickly as possible - after all, he did have a job to do.
Nonetheless, what harm was there in a little sight-seeing.
Mickey didn't entirely understand why, but a large number of the people around were looking at him rather strangely. It wasn't because he was a mouse or anything - or else, he should have been far more shocked by the appearance of those foreigners that had come to their rescue - and his disguise, meant to let him fit in with the locals, had to be accurate. Hades wouldn't deliberately mess with his chances, that was against the contract. Nevertheless, as he walked ever further down the streets of Thebes, the looks continued, people leaning in to whisper to each other as he went. It was only after one of these whispers actually reached him, his naturally receptive ears catching onto it despite the fact that it was clearly meant to be heard by no one but the man she was speaking to, that he realized the looks were primarily because he was looking in awe and wonder at sights that should have been boring by now, were he a local.
They were already onto him.
Yikes.
He ducked into the nearest building, wiping the look of enjoyment off his face as he did, eyes casting around the place and catching sight of a man standing behind a nearby counter, the interior's setup making it quite clear that this was a shop of some kind.
He approached the desk, smiling amiably, before speaking.
"Hiya! I was just brushing up on my history and gosh, I can't seem to find my notes about that Bergeron guy." He chuckled. "Think you could help me out, stranger?" Lying wasn't exactly his forte, but he could only hope that he wouldn't accidentally blow his cover too soon.

The shopkeeper looked down at the diminuitive face peering high with hopes for kindness.
He crinkled his mustache.
"History scrolls are on the back shelf, 300 munny apiece," he said, looking jabbing his thumb backwards towards the shelf in question.
Ten scrolls. They had titles listed below 'em:
1) Titanomancy 2) The Not So Distant Olympus Coliseum 3) The Hercules Epic, Part III: What Not To Do To A Hydra 4) A History of Heretics 5) Olympian History, Grade 8 6) Gods Through The Ages 7) The Last Great Decade 8) Heralds of the Gods; Revised Edition 9) The Seer Age 10) Corinthian Bias
...well. Which one to go for? [/size] [ No need to spend OOC munny, but you should determine how much munny the King had on him when he died. If you opt for nil in the munny department, you'll have to appeal to Hades whenever his surprise progress check up occurs. Or... you know. Try and read them without buying them. ]

The sun in the sky turned a deep orange as it started its descent for the ground, taking the day from it's noon high to late afternoon.

[ Yell at me if this isn't okay. I just forgot all about this in my homework hullaballo this weekend. >.> ]
In truth, Mickey was really rather tired.
Granted, being a King meant reading a fair bit, but he'd been the type to read things in bits and pieces, rather than all at once.
However, considering that he was on a very strict time requirement, he had been forced to read the scroll he'd bought from the mustachoied man (Gods Through The Ages) rather quickly, considering that he knew Hades would be showing up fairly soon to question him on his progress.
Scroll tucked into his pocket, he meandered through the streets once more, eyes flickering upwards to notice that the day was steadily creeping away from him.
Not good, considering he'd gotten nothing done.
In desperation, he moved towards the nearest person, a teenager running around with a wooden sword, and caught his attention with a tap on the shoulder.
"Hey there, little guy!" He began, smiling. "I'm just running a little test of everyone's knowledge of mythology here. Do you know who Bergeron is?" That smile on his face never left, though he did feel rather bad, considering that he was having to lie to everyone that he talked to.
He was a good guy! Lying didn't exactly sit well with him.

[ Psh, s'okay. ^^ ...LOOKIT ME AND MY MAKING YOU WAIT THREE DAYS WHY HAVEN'T YOU HARMED ME YET? ] Though the Gods Through the Ages scroll didn't mention any Bergeron, it seemed to talk about the Gods and their various business... well, through the ages. There seemed to be an interesting story about Hades and a musician looking for his wife too, hmm...
But the scroll stops before the last 30 years. If this Bergeron person really is an Olympian, and he's not written down there, then either no one wants to remember him, or he only showed up within the last 30 years.
Helpful, in a round about sorta way.
The teenager stopped his sprint short, turning around in a fast-- whoops twisted the sword just out of the way of the stranger's big ears. That could have hurt--
Eh?
...mythology?
Bergeron?
The lanky teen shook his head. "Er, Iunno about mythowhatever..." he made that shrug that all teenagers do so well, "but, um, Bergeron? Bergeron..."
He started jogging in place. He was probably participating in some kind of sport or training, but man was he antsy.
"...nah, sorry, dunno the guy-- girl? Er, right. Sorry I couldn't--"
He stopped for a second, a look of furrowed brows and high concentration on his face. He looked... like he didn't do much of this kind of hard thinking.
And shook his head.
"Aah, I give up. Who's Bergeron?" the teen asked.
