It was a sun filled day... the wildlife was active, the wind was softly flowing.
*Yawn* Very nice... My sweet kiss me warmthly, as a chorus sings with the soft strings of the sky. Very nice... *Yawn* A cup... a cup of Earl Grey would be nice at this time, yes very nice very *Yawn* nice.
Hidden in the sleeve of his robes, the man conjured a cup and a teapot as he pour himself a cup of tea.

Adelaide had found a spoon.
It was rather fulsome, in that odd, tricky way and there were - yes, she did see, why, how peculiar - teeth!
How strange! How marvelous! Picking up the green spoon with teeth she twirled it a few times before adding it to her collection. A spoon that was a mystery! Most delightful. Patting the thing a few times, she promised she would look into its mystery soon.
Ah, but there - did she smell, yes she did! Tea!
Why, that meant that there was a tea party near here, now didn't it?
She came to a crossroads where one monkish, frumpish looking man was drinking a single cup of tea.
Why, how odd!
"Sir," Adelaide asked, only reaching to his knee, "are you holding a tea party?"

The cup was about to come to his 'mouth' when a sound was heard below. And looking down there stood a girl of no more than two feet with eyes that were shining in the light of the sun. The man put his cup down to his side and readjusted his seating position.
*Yawn* What do these weary eye seek upon the ground but a little person, nay a young lady, standing in front of an old scribe on a day such as this. Yes but No Mi'Lady, I am having a Tea party but without the company of others. *Yawn* I must seem lack of manners to not offer you a seat and cup, let I redo the blunder that I've caused here. *Yawn* Mi'Lady with respect to thee, would fair Young maiden care to join in the merry making of this small little tea party?

"I would be delighted to join you, sir," Adelaide replied, equally politely.
Well, since he'd been yawning, perhaps more politely. Then again, it was entirely possible he was suffering from coniptions. Dreadful things, coniptions. Not that Adelaide knew what a coniption was but it did sound rather dreadful.
"I'm afraid though, I'm not alone, however." She patted her cloak where her multitude of small friends lay. "You know how spoons are," she whispered conspiratorially. "They never take well to not being invited to a tea party."

A rather odd but normal request... there have been records of Spoon Rebellions for not being invited to tea parties. Such as the court trial of Chinaware v. Fowl. Much of that case was feather and cock of rubbish, but the Queen's final verdict on it OTH for both parties. The was a side note that Mr. Fowl tasted good at dinner with the garnished mash potatoes.
The cleared his throat to correct himself and restate his previous statement.
My apologies... *Yawn* I appear to lack manners yet again. The friends of Mi'Lady are also invited to this merry little tea party. *Yawn* So how many seats and cups will be needed for this large assemply?

"No more than eight," Adelaide said firmly, "we wouldn't want to be bother."
Her cloak rattled but then was still. The doll frowned. Were some of the spoons considering mutiny? It was true that the road was not an easy life for a spoon and that some had come from much more... privileged backgrounds but still! Look at Mr. Monk! He clearly didn't have the right, ahem, means to host a gathering of dozens upon dozens.
The table was missing too. Not that that was very important, for a tea party, the only real pre-requisite was tea. And not even always then!

The man took a deep breath, letting his mind think and...
An object made out of ceramic material molded upon potter's wheel with the hands of a skilled potter into a tea cup with a handle fit for a little girl's tea party fired at 1200 degrees Celsius, fired again to a gloss with the designs that are approved by the Queen of Hearts. With time a set of eight cups are made for a tea party that is merry and fair.
The man breathed deeply as he reached inside his cloak pulling out a tray with eight cups with the designs of the Queen of Hearts afternoon matches painted in great detail on them. The man set it down and started pouring out the tea into the cups with great care as he yawned a little bit here and there.

Adelaide almost wished to point out that Mr. Monk sounded almost downright reasonable speaking such things, but this was his tea party. One must observe the small niceties, even to those who were rather peculiarly reasonable.
"Oh!" The doll said, delighted, quite forgetting the whole reasonable bit as the teacups came out of his jacket. Those didn't fit there. But there were many places in Wonderland whose ins were larger than their outs. "How charming!"
She opened up her cloak and began laying about spoons. "Now be nice," she lectured the silverware. "We have two new friends with us!"
She put down Mr. Teeth Spoon and gestured to Mr. Monk. "Say hello everyone."
The spoons sat there, mournfully quiet.
"They're just shy," Adelaide said after a moment and began putting spoons into cups. "Don't mind them. They're always like that when they meet new people."

Understandable... I as well am much like that. The only people that are ever seen at in the books and notes I hold. The words I speak are people to others that some may not see or agree. But enough of this and that, would Mi'Lady care for creme or sugar or none or both?

"I am partial to newt eyes, but the newts are ever so picky about who plucks them. It's a wonder they ever get any business at all," Adelaide sighed, putting on an aristocratic mien. "I suppose cream will have to do."
She took out a small pipe. It strongly resembled a tobacco pipe except for the end, which seemed to be built out of a spoon that had been wrapped around itself several times. "Do you mind if I bubble?"

The man muttered under his breath <Shortcut> Creme and from his cloak he pulled out a smaller teapot that was filled with creme. He poured a little bit of creme into the young lady's tea. The man picked up his cup again, feeling that the tea cooled more than he wanted and mutter under his breath again <Shortcut> Warmth and then steam rose from the cup as the tea was reheated. The man looked up again, and replied to the young lady's request. I do not mind, if it was let you relax along with a cup of tea then you are more than welcomed as a guest.
The man was about to drink from his cup when he remember that the mask would get in the way. With his hand he opened a little door in the two bottom front teeth and then took a sip from his tea enjoying the taste.

"You are most kind," Adelaide said fondly before putting the pipe in her mouth. She gave it a few gentle puffs before an errant squawk released a brightly colored bubble. The doll frowned and gave the pipe a few good shakes, dislodging feathers, bones and then finally a small beak.
"It's the wimsies getting stuck," the doll said shrugging her small shoulders. She went back to puffing, sending small, less brightly colored bubbles out to play. As his tea was reheated Adelaide nodded appreciatively. "Mmm, that does smell good."
She took the pipe out of her mouth and set it down, bringing the teacup (which was rather big for her, but no matter, one size fits all and all that rot).
"So tell me, good sir, what is it that you think we are here for?"

The man took another sip of his tea and then set it down and closed the little door on his mask. He yawn for some 5 seconds, stretched his back and cleared his throat.
That depends... the time, the place, here and now or there and later... it all depends. As for here and now, we are here enjoying some tea while blowing a pipe, while I scribe everything into record of this day.
