For all my more-or-less competently sane characters, I've never tried MPD before. This required rectification.
Still in infant stages, this one started off as 'magical child genius' archetype and warped his merry way into insanity and then into partial insanity and then straight on back into full blown insanity. I wasn't sure if WIP threads were allowed, so it's going here for now.

If I were to describe Us... we're opposites, but only insofar as the word 'opposite' conotes the state of apparent difference. The word itself is lacking in the execution, elaboration and definition. Save all those (necessary) items, we are indeed far and apart in temperament, moral character, grasp on reality and so on.
•Inner Thought Process:
Time 00:04:32-00:05:09; Session 4
"How he thinks is a bit of a puzzle. I am not so naive to see us as photographic negatives and though I can see results, I am often unsure of his motivations.
I myself have always striven for... a modicum of scientific decorum, though I seem to have navigated [laugh] quite into the Cliffordian school of thought in that objective thought is not always totally realisable nor even desirable.
But you may call me child-genius if you so wish."
•Fears:
Time 01:00:32-01:01:17; Session 4
"I do believe, for all his random violence, that He is more ethical than I. I do not entirely wish to be proven correct on this point but if the opportunity did present itself...
I'm sorry. Please forget that."
•Pleasures:
Time 00:03:49-00:04:02; Session 1
"If a Noble were to reveal pleasures that did not involve gambling, reading, writing, fighting, patronizing (in both senses of the word) then he'd be in dire straits indeed, I'm afraid."
•Quirks:
Overheard while speaking to fellow patient:
"I suppose you could consider the MPD thing as a 'quirk' of character, though in my opinion it'd be much in the same way you'd consider blindness or deafness a 'quirk' of the body."

It was raining.
He'd just killed someone (BROTHERDAUGHTERSISTERFATHER) and it was raining.
Laughter.
It started as a gasp. A death rattle of a concept spelled with capitals and weighty pretentiousness AND AND AND might have meant something, maybe, once upon a midnight hour.
Out it came, lunch and supper and hints of breakfast. Peppermint colors and wild flavors and spicy smells and always and forever laughter.
"I told you," he laughed-cried-died. "I warned you, I knew this would happen, but you wouldn't, didn't listen. I picked you out, brought you home and now it's happened again."
No answer.
Surprising.
"I'm sick. I told you. But you didn't... hehehaha believe. It's alwahahahHAHAHays the same damn thing after another same damn thing."
He could still feel the weight of a fragile glass jaw as it cracked underfoot.
He'd jumped.
Again. And again. And again.
She'd... cracked. And then broke.
Ah. There we go. She was talking now. Speaking. Miming. Acting. Auteure-écrivaine-screenwriter-narrator of the highest caliber.
Rather lacking as a philosopher.
Perhaps.
"No, no no." He shook his head, wet forelocks dangling like Mistletoe two weeks after Christmas.
"I thought that was what was wrong with me too. I thought - I thought the world was wrong, understand?" And it was important she understand. "The world. Not me. Everyone else. Who couldn't accept and understand that there are monsters."
"Like me."
"But that's so limited. It's like the parable of the frog in the well, and I don't want to be constrained like that. I have to see how others see. Feel how others feel. Love and hate and run and scream."
"Like Him."
The rain pitter-pattered its disjointed melody.
And then the world broke.

Ravel came to slowly.
A strict internal clock told him he'd been getting too little sleep. A bleary eye looked around, noted the position of the sun and-
The new doll was in pieces.
"Brillig." The boy muttered, hand combing through his still-damp hair. His feet hurt something fierce, and there was a... mess on the ground that wasn't made of silk and clay and was definitely starting to smell.
"Just brillig."

I am told this is necessary.
Then again I am told many things are necessary.
Which is fair insofar that it is a broad statement with too many ambiguities to argue against if at all but is hardly fair in this particular context.
Classical definitions of MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) indicate that it is impossible for two personas to be aware of one another and co-exist freely in a cogent, coherent manner.
Professor Jubjub puts it best, I think, when he says that the intersecting egos collapse into each other upon contact, much like water mixing with water produces a solution that is homogenous and irretrievable. Whether the school of thought is Callooh - that this is a result of structural interstices, of nerves, humors and neurons; or closer to the perspective of Ansem the Wise - that Hearts and Souls and Bodies produce the Mind and that this must be Unitary (granted, Ansem's writings have always been a little obscure and self-referential) the end result is the same nevertheless.
The cognitive sciences, however, are limited by their subject of study and the peculiarities of the conceptual models and centrism - ethno, ego, professional.
I, of course, am limited by the fact that I am aware of Him just as he is aware of Me.•General Persona
