Cloud started off in a run. He knew he wouldn't be able to put out a fire if it was started, but the man would pay for this. He definitely would. What could anyone have done to someone in Radiant Garden of all places to make some psychotic pyromaniac show up? More importantly, why was he so intent on vengeance when whatever it was could much more simply be brought up with Ansem? Whatever the case, Cloud didn't quite care. He just hoped he wasn't too late to save at least some of his house.

A tower of black smoke was visible not too far ahead.
Around the corner.
Where Cloud's house is.
Cloud'll have but the barest of moments to dash into the house and get any possessions before it becomes too dangerous. The second her rounds that corner, he'll want to dive right in and save what he could. [ Preparation round! If you've got any Protect, Barrier, Delay Spell, Haste, Potions, or any other kind of preperation to make before you go hurtling for a burning house, this is your chance to make it! ]

... but Cloud stopped short of his house. There wasn't anything in there he could save, not now. Anything that would be in reach wasn't important enough to charge in and save. He was sort of a minimalist; the only thing he would have actively wanted to save was a gift he'd received, but the section of the house it was in was already an inferno. No chance of saving it. If anything could be salvaged, the firemen would let him know when they put the fire out. Instead, Cloud's sharp blue eyes scanned the area, looking for the man in the black cloak anywhere around...

Cloud's flitting eyes would meet no hooded stranger, on ground or on rooftop.
But his eyes saw something very interesting indeed on a neighboring window sill.
Heartless!
Four potted plants, with grim faces and dark auras, leaped down from a second story window sill-- and proceeded to charge straight at the owner of the house in question! The woman, who held a brown hood over her head in defense, jerked back in surprise as the Heartless stretched out with their razor sharp leaves, intent on felling the woman!
Did Heartless usually come deep into the busy city like this though? Unknown Heartless [hp=18/18]

Cloud's sharp eyes scanned the enemies before he charged, positioning himself between the woman and the Heartless before letting out three wide blows with the blunt edge of the Buster Sword. "I can take care of these guys; you get somewhere safe," He instructed, ready for the inevitable counterattack.

[ They don't. ^^ ]Cloud's quick surge forward send the three closest of the Heartless flying backwards and away, with 6 damage each!
The woman, seeing this, opened her mouth.
And then shut it, getting to her feet and heading for the nearest side street.
Cloud's quick cast of Scan would reveal these Heartless to be Possessors, Heartless that had a tendency to hitch a ride on inanimate objects and use them to do the attacking for them! This explained why they looked so weird...
Ah.
A sharp leaf scratched on a certain left leg for 2 damage.
Dang nabit. This was an unneeded distraction...! Possessor [hp=12/18]
