I hear Shields have 8 HP. Could you ever increase that? I wanted to make a custom ability for that and try to get it accepted, but alas, my lack of funds.
Also, would Armor likewise have a HP bar in the damage it can take?

On the first one: All I can tell you is that it isn't possible through a Custom Ability. It may be hard to ask, but trust me on this.
As for Armor... that's the only way to make it FAIR, so yeah, armor as a whole would follow the same rules as shields. (And no, not PARTS of an armor; the entire armor takes damage as one entity. That's the only way to make it fair, as armor CONSTANTLY blocks whether you try or not.)
However, on the DAMAGE resistance of Armor, I may have to lower that somehow to recognize that something which always blocks and isn't a case of being able to block is much better, even following the same rules; I'll get back to you on that on a day I'm not creatively drained.

=/ Well, I hope you find a good, reasonable way about it. Armor is a big deal in battle. If you're going into a sword fight, it only makes sense to protect yourself well, right?
Even if it's unfair on paper, an unarmored fighter going against a fully armored knight has a disadvantage no matter which way you fly it. Just like how an unarmed martial artist has to be several times as skilled to compete with an armed martial artist. This is how warfare works.
People should have to cover themselves in more armor instead of fighting in their PJs if they want to even the odds.
