-----------------------------------------------------------It started out as most things do: slowly. Its presence became known--really known, not just suspected--only quite recently, in fact. Now there are safe camps and rebellions, killing curses hissed from every corner of the world, and although many are trying to stop it, few are actually helping. But let me rewind just a little. After Lord Voldemort's death, tensions were always high between his supporters and those who had disapproved of him. No one knew what to do with his followers. Should they be punished? Or should they be forgiven? I suppose the government took too long to make this decison, but it was admittedly a tough one. Some Death Eaters did go to Azkaban, but that didn't satisfy everyone. You see, Voldemort had killed many wizards in his time. And it probably goes without saying that many of their families still live, grieving for their lost loved one and yearning to put the blame on someone. Anger has a tendency to build up. It bubbles and boils until it spills over the edge, unable to be controlled. That's basically what happened. At first, it was a quiet movement, but people soon caught on. If the government wouldn't take care of the mess that Voldemort had left behind, then the citizens would take it into their own hands. Purebloods began going missing; some even turned up dead. Coincidence? They soon found out that it wasn't. An anonymous insider gave all the details to the Ministry: groups of halfbloods and muggleborns, once thought of as "lesser bloods," were murdering purebloods as revenge for Lord Voldemort's reign. Surely, this couldn't be true! But it was. The group calling themselves "The Brigade" was growing larger, and the purebloods were in danger. Finally, the Ministry began to do something about it. Roland Kirke, newly appointed to the position of Minister, made an announcement that purebloods were to, from now on, be living in "safe camps." They would be guarded at all hours, and would have their own protected community. This seemed like a good temporary solution, but several purebloods refused to move into the safe camps. They were too proud, preferring to live in danger than to be stripped of their independence. They formed the Insurgence and chose to fight against the Brigade, hoping to one day regain freedom and safety for all purebloods. It's a strange tale, indeed. Now that Voldemort's reign has ended, the lesser bloods aren't the ones in danger. It's the purebloods who are wondering whether or not there's a WOLF AT THE DOOR. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
