Wakka didn't want to eat Sora's dust so he spied the empty ladder and chose a different route. The boy moved to the tower and began to climb it as quickly as he could, putting that limited agility to the test.

Like he'd implied earlier, Sora wasn't watching Wakka. At all. he was just running as fast as he could and keeping both eyes ahead of him, so as not to run in to anything.

Once at the top of the tower Wakka hopped up and grabbed the handle above him. In just a moment the lock was released and the athlete was sent zipping across a descending length of wire at high speed. The drop to land below was incredibly dangerous, but everyone in their group was well-equipped to handle it. At the end of the ride Wakka released the bar and fell the now much shorter distance to the sand below. He was next to the coconut trees now, the rising hill toward the star-shaped tree just in front of him.
More importantly, Sora was now right next to him. Wakka rolled with the landing to save momentum and began to run up the hill alongside his friend, grinning as he went.

Sora grinned and laughed as Wakka dropped down beside him, giving his friend a thumbs-up. But, that didn't mean he was giving up; Sora just pushed himself to run faster, though he was already going about as fast as he could run. He had a bit more speed in him than he was giving now, though. "This is fun!" Sora announced, still beaming.

Unlike Sora, Wakka had take paths of more resistance and climbed having to sue his arms and legs. He was a bit more taxed than his opponent right now. Thankfully turned out that Sora was holding back a little, so Wakka managed to keep in pace. He was also able to take the left side of the path up thanks to the zip line, which put him slightly closer to the goal point. As they reached the top of the hill he jumped the small gap and tagged the tree with his right hand.
Now they had to get back to where they started.

Sora wasn't too far behind, though; he tagged the tree just a second after Wakka did, pushing himself just a bit too much and ending up falling off the hill and onto the beach, though he saved himself from a painful fall with a roll upon impact, starting back into a run as soon as he was on his feet again. "I'm okay!" He called to Wakka, wherever he was. Had to let his friend know he hadn't hurt himself, after all.

You're too stubborn to get hurt, ya?" Wakka called down from the small platform with the goal. He smiled, as they'd all made that exact fall several times during their years on the island. Wakka didn't have time to reminisce about his own tumbles, though. He decided it was time to work that agility he'd been talking about.
With a deep breath the athlete leaped off the platform, landing shakily on top of the nearby coconut tree. The redhead sighed in releif when he actually managed to keep his footing.

Sora laughed at Wakka's reply, running as fast as he could to get back around to the tower and the bridge. If he could get across the bridge before Wakka did, he'd have won!... probably. But that didn't really matter; he would have fun even if Wakka beat him.

Wakka steadied himself. this next jump would be tricky and Sora was already getting closer to the cliff wall. He hopped over to the next tree top, finding it a bit harder due to a less sturdy leaping platform. Unable to build good speed the teen hopped from tree to tree to get back to the land with the tower on it, but Sora had already reached the bridge once he landed down.

Sora had no idea of Wakka had jumped off the trees yet, but so far as he could tell, he was winning the race. He ran across the bridge at top speed, skidding to a stop so he wouldn't hit the wall. Now that he'd gotten back to the goal point, he looked back over to where Wakka was, grinning and flashing his friend a thumbs-up once more.

Wakka knew he couldn't win once he saw Sora had gotten to the bridge first. With victory out of the question the redhead dropped down and ran back the same way he had originally gone, through the water below the bridge. He jumped up and pulled himself up to the starting platform again, only to be greeted by Sora's thumbs-up.
"Nice work."

"You did good, too! I wouldn't have jumped on the trees, though; I'd hate to fall off one of those and get stuck in them..." Sora said, grinning. He was being honest; he remembered about it having happened to Riku once, and it didn't sound too fun. Especially after having hung in a tree for a while; that sounded reeeeeeally boring.

Wakka laughed.
"You'd probably do all right. I've been watching you get better and better for years. I think you have a lot more potential than I do. You're just not the acrobatic type like Tidus. At least not yet."

"No way; I don't think I could ever swim as well as you do!" Sora said cheerfully. A way of encouragement; so far as Sora was concerned, Wakka was just as good as he was... just not at the same things. Like how Wakka had said Tidus and Riku were the acrobatic type and they weren't. Something like that, anyways. "All we have to do is keep practicing!" He finished with a grin and another thumbs-up.

Wakka gave Sora a thumbs-up in return, acknowledging the sentiment. Sora and Tidus never gave up the goal of catching up to and surpassing Riku, so how could he when they depended on him for support? That just wouldn't do.
Wakka took a few deep breaths to get his breathing back to normal then looked to Sora again.
"OK, you pick the next activity," the redhead offered. In his statement was the hidden meaning of "We aren't done yet", a feeling he was sure Sora would catch on to. Just how long and how far could they go?
