"I wouldn't harm a fly.." Ellie called back to the old lady as she descended down into the cellar. She looked around, she saw many boxes and jars among other varies things that seemed to be down here. And there wasn't a good light source for her to see well down here. "Ms, do you have a flashlight I can borrow?" she asked, any source of light would help.

"I'm sorry, sweetie, but I don't. There's only the light from that window down there." The old lady replied, looking sad. She turned away. "You'll just have to do it without a flashlight, of course. I'm sure you can find the rats, though. They aren't exactly quiet little things, now..." And indeed, Ellie would be able to hear squeaking coming from the cellars.

Yes, Ellie could already hear the squeaking and scurrying of the rats from the cellar. She walked down and looked towards the window. She supposed it might be some light source if any. She had to adjust to the dim lighting as she looked around. She walked towards the window and used her jacket sleeve to wipe the window off some. She then looked around some more, to see where the rats were.

Ellie could see, at this point in time, two rats. One of which was right next to the stairs at the moment, and seemed to be pausing and staring at her. The other she could possibly see was, in fact, right behind her, and seemed to be scrabbling at the wall the window was on, almost as if attempting to get to the window and being absolutely unable to do so. Rat 2 [hp=1/1]

As Ellie looked around she saw the two rats, one of which was behind her. But the question was how to get them out of the lady's basement. She could pick them up and send them outside the window. On second thought, she wasn't even sure if the window itself opened or not. She turned around and looked at the dusty, cob-webbed window. She decided to try and pry it open; given there wasn't a screen on the other side of the glass. The rats would have to wait as she attempted to try and find a solution of how to get them out. One possible way was to open the window, catch the rats and send them outside the window.

The window opened right up with a loud creak, surprising the rat near the wall, which instantly zoomed off behind a pile of boxes. The other rat, the one that had been staring at her, made a squeak and made for a hole nearby in a pile of metal junk. There were answering squeaks in the room that confirmed the estimate of 5 rats.

Ellie smiled as she managed to open the window. She looked around for the two rats she had seen before opening the window and only managed to see one of them sneaking away to hide in a hole nearby a pile of what seemed to be junk metal. She frowned a little and heard other squeaks, probably an estimate of three or two more rats then she had first seen. Walking towards the pile of junk metal she began to look for the rat and began to move some of the metal, making sure to not cut herself.

As the metal pile got smaller, there was more squeaks, and the rat didn't sound very happy. Suddenly it shot out of the hole and between Ellie's legs, trying to get to the window. Unfortunately, much like the other rat, it simply couldn't climb the wall, and there was nothing near the window for it to climb.

Hmm..how to catch them.. she thought to herself as she turned around to look at the rat who had scurried towards the open window. She could try and pick them up but chasing them around would be too much. She could also try and find something to catch them with, a net or something. She could build a make-shift ladder for them to climb.
She looked around and saw some boxes, going over to them she carried them over to the window and began to make some sort of ramp so the rats could climb/jump up it to the window.

The rat nearby scooted away as she began to move boxes, and vanished into other piles of junk. Once the ramp was completed, there was more pathways through the boxes that she'd inadvertently unblocked, and she needed to find the rats to try and get them out the window.
There was the sound of rustling or scratching near the window, near the stairs, and down one of the paths she'd unblocked.

"Oh..mister rats.." she began to hum as she stood up, admiring her handy work. She then looked around the window for the rat she had seen earlier that had scrambled over here to escape from her. She just wanted to maybe scare it a little so that it scurried onto her make-shift ramp and out the window.

Ellie would find four possible hiding places to examine for rats in this area.
The first was a box with the lid hanging mostly off, on its side. The second was a series of pipes. The third was yet another box, this one with a hole on a bottom corner. And the fourth was a tangled mess of plants.
...What was the old lady DOING with all this stuff in her cellar?
((Investigate two at most))

Ellie looked around for a moment wondering where the rats might have possibly hidden. First she went to the box with the lid hanging off, she lifted the lid and looked inside. Wondering if a mouse would spring up out of it and possibly startle her, though she wasn't startled easily mind you.
After that she would go over and check the box with a hole in the bottom corner, possibly big enough for a rat to squeeze through. She would lift the lid to check inside.

"SQUEAK!"
The rat scurried out of the hole, going up the ramp and out of the window. [1/5] It had startled the moment she raised the lid, running out with frightened speed and vanishing. There had been nothing in the other box, however.
There were still sounds in this area.

Ellie smiled as the rat scurried away from her and up the ramp she had built. Atleast it was smart enough to not go and hide again somewhere else. Though her first fete was a failure she hoped that else where she would discover the other rats. From her memory she knew there were possibly four more. She checked the pipes and then would go and check near the plants. Jeez, she hadn't noticed but there was a lot of crap here. She could understand however why the old lady had so much, her Grams had also had a lot of things before she passed and Ellie had had to give them all away to charity and stuff. Some even she managed to sell.
