Marcus looked crouched down to get closer to the clubs level. He figured he should give the kid a bit of advice so that he doesn't get himself killed trying this again. Sure, he found it funny and was willing to play around with Skit, but no all the animals in the jungle were as nice as him. He gave Skit an meaningful look and said " Your right, it isn't a proper hunt, but there are no do overs when it comes to things like this. Thats why you have to get it right the first time, or you'll find that your the one in trouble instead of your prey."
After he smiled and said " Why don't we try this again. It will be practice so that your will get it right the first time when you hunt for real. I'll close my eyes while you hide and try to surprise me again. Sound good?"

"Yes! I order you to do that!" Skit said quickly before turning around a few times. he was excited about the prospect of a fresh hunting experience and seemed to get a bit turned-around, but eventually managed to run off into the thick growth of the jungle again.

Marcus Smiled as he watched Skit run into the jungle. It was refreshing to see such innocence in the jungle. After letting threat that train train of thought pass, he sat and the ground and leaned up against the tree. He closed his eyes and let his mind wander a bit, giving Skit a bit more a a chance to sneak up on him.

'Yeah, this is more like it,' thought the cub as he moved slowly and carefully over the ground. Careful not to step on anything that would make a sound, each step carefully timed and placed, eyes and nose tracking everything around him as best he knew how(It was a good thing Marcus was staying still, actually).
The jungle cat made his way around behind the tree the human sat at and off to Marcus' right side. He crouched behind some bushes there, picturing his first successful hunt.

Despite the handicaps that he was giving the young cub, Marcus could still tell where Skit was. A small grin spread across his face as Skit got ready to pounce. He debated on letting the lttle one get him, but decided against it. While Skit's claws were sill small, they were sharp non the less.

"HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" was heard through the forest as Marcus rolled on the ground holding his gut. It took a few minutes, but the laughter eventually softened into a chuckle as Marcus wiped the tears from his eyes. " I think your gonna need to work on your aim your majesty." he said, adding the last part in with good humor.

"I can aim just fine when things stay still!" the young cub protested, still holding that the tree had somehow swerved into his way. "I'll prove it to you. just hold something out and I'll catch it!"

Marcus smiled at the cub good naturedly and said "I'm sure you could, but to be good in a hunt you have to be able to get your target weather they're moving or not." He then grabbed a nearby stick and said "Here I'll help you practice. I'll throw this stick in there air and you have to try and catch it. It will be good practive."

Skit looked undecided toward Marcus for a while before finally letting out a defiant huff.
"Fine then. It will be a good opportunity for you to see how amazing I am before I catch you."

Marcus only smiled good natured as he threw the stick into the air. Without realizing it, he somehow found himself teaching this little one how to survive in the jungle. It gave him a strangely humble feeling.

Skit stretched out, reading himself. The stick flew. His small eyes watched carefully. He waited until the most opportune moment... then pounced! True to his word the cub's paws nail the stick directly. Unfortunately, his opportune moment had been after it hit the ground.
"Hah! You see, I told you!" he said proudly.

Marcus just stared at the stick for a few moments before he let out a sigh. He then turned to Skit and said "While your technically right, the point of this practice was for you to hit it in air. It will help you to hit moving targets and be good practice for hunting birds." He then went over and picked up the stick. "Now this time try and get it while its still in the air." he said, as he threw the stick up in the air again.

"What? In the air? that's ridicul-oh!" SKit started to say but was interrupted by the tossing of the object. The little cub jumped up as high as he could, but couldn't reach anywhere near as high as the stick before both he and it landed back on the ground.
"Just silly," he muttered.

Marcus knelled down next to Skit patted the cub's head as he said "Don't worry about it. These things take time. Even kings need to practice." he then stood up and grabbed a small hollow log. "its all about timing. You don't have to go and chase after it right from the start. You just have to wait for the write moment to strike. I'll show you." Marcus then threw the log in the air and closed his eyes. As the log fell Marcus balled his hand into a fist. Just as it made it into arms reach, Marcus' fist swung out and broke it in mid air.
