"Sorry again guys," Wakka's accented and calm voice said as he tied up their three boats to a firm rock. He was good with knots, so the vessels would be safe. He put one foot against the stone and pulled hard on the ropes, securing their tightness. After he was certain that this work was acceptable he took off his blue bandanna, wiped his brow, and tied it back on before turning back to his two friends. "You understand, right?"
Wakka was of course referring to how low the sun was in the sky despite the fact that they had just landed on the beach of Dark Island. Considering how long it took to row out here to begin with, they didn't have much time to explore today before they'd have to start heading home or risk breaking their respective curfews. Wakka was the primary reason for the late start, having needed to help his younger brother with some homework before he could get out for the day.

Selphie had been the first to get to the dock, and she had been waiting awhile..having arrived early. First she had to wait for Tidus and then Wakka, but she understood. Actually, before she had left her mother had told her to do some chores before she left and she still had managed to get there early. They reached the Dark Island, that now to Selphie didn't seem so scary. Sure there were still some unexplored places, that may seem a bit frightening or dark but all she had to do was envision the paradise they had found.
"It's alright, Wakka!" she exclaimed, smiling over at Wakka from where she knelt on the ground. She was making sure she had brought everything. This time she was prepared. She had even worn boots instead of her wooden sandals. Best be prepared! Unlike last time because she hadn't known what Tidus had been up to. She stood up and put her bag across her shoulder since it was a messenger type bag. Letting them know she ready for their adventure she exclaimed, "Let's go guys!"

"Don't worry about it, Wakka." Tidus had fanned off the apology. Family was important and Tidus knew the older boy was a good brother. Still, that didn't mean he wanted to get their adventure going any less. Last time he was the only one prepared since it was his idea. This time they would all be just as ready. Which it meant they could venture more, take more risks, etc.
Yes, Tidus was beyond excited. He moved ahead to take the lead, his shoulders rising and then receding as he inhaled.
"This is it, today we find treasure...and I'm not talking the same treasure as before!"
He admitted, looking over his left shoulder with a confident expression. True they'd lost time, but Captain Tidus had hoped to make the most out of their current bit.
"Move out!"
He announced, walking ahead proudly.

"Aye aye, Captain," Wakka said as he moved over to his boat to strap his pack on. It was bigger, or rather, more full this time. Wakka also picked up two shovels from his boat and took them under his right arm.
'First mate? More like supply wagon,' Wakka thought, but with amusement. As the biggest of the three it was only natural for him to carry the biggest burden. Besides, the shovels were his idea. When you want to find treasure on an island the buried kind was always the best, right?
"You got your map and compass ready, Selphie?" he asked as he moved his way over to the girl before they would follow after their hyperactive "leader".

Selphie watched as Tidus walked ahead of them, she noted that he walked with pride. He was their captain after all. She followed after and was soon joined by Wakka, "Aye," she said. She moved her hands to her pack and started to dig through it, moments later she pulled out the map Tidus had given her on their last adventure here as well as a compass. She flashed them towards Wakka and smiled. She was prepared to be Navigator. "Navigator Selphie at your service." she pipped as she jogged some to catch up to Tidus.
"So, Cap'tn where are we headin' today?" she asked.

His ears perked to focus on the duo behind them. Wakka had the stuff, which was expected of him since he was first mate! Selphie had the map and compass cause she was the navigator. As for Tidus, well he had the plan because he was Captain.
"Well Navigator girl, we're going to uncharted territory this time. Though we'll make a stop at the beautiful beach we discovered, could be all kinds of treasure there."
It might have sounded strange but Tidus remembered Selphie's seashell collecting from the other day and figured she might want the oppertunity to do so again. That and he was out of the seashells he prepped the last journey. He'd need to stock up if they were going to go any further.
So in truth Tidus didn't really have much on him and was only prepared in planning, rather than materials. Though he did have some stuff. Namely his medicines (potions), as well as food, his trusty weapon, and sheer will power.
"Onwards!"

Wakka happily made the journey in silence since he had a fair bit of weight to deal with this time. If they actually found treasure he would be sure to make Tidus be the one to carry it back, but that amusing thought could be saved for later.
They walked a trek identical to their first visit to this island. When they entered the cave at the center of the trek Wakka once again gave Tidus a mental compliment, noting how the shells made it much easier to get through the cave, which meant they had to spend less time in it.
Wakka had a feeling Selphie was thankful for that too.

Selphie looked at the seashells that were in the cave from last time, they guided her through the cave almost sidetracking her from the darkness they had offered last time. They reached the other side, of which Selphie was glad for. She momentarily let out a sigh as they reached the beach they had found last time but hadn't had the time to explore last time. She smiled as she saw the beach, the paradise. "Want to walk down the beach? See what we can find?" she asked. "Maybe, we'll find a trail, eh?"

"That's the spirit Navigator Girl, set a course through the beach. Take a good look around, make sure you don't miss anything."
He announced, albeit in a somewhat commanding tone. More so comicaly, than serious. This beach really did look beautiful. Almost pristine, was it even right for them to thread through it? Well, Tidus happily marched all the same. This time triumphantly making it pass the perch he took prior. Looking on out at the ocean, he couldn't help but grin. It really wasn't dark on this side of the island. He then looked over towards the left.
At first it seemed like nothing, he even looked to the right before doing a double take. When he turned back to the right side he noted footprints. They were on a distrinct trail along the coast. They clearly weren't his, in fact there was two. One slightly larger than the other. Tidus was surprised, he had to motion for Wakka and Selphie to come over, but stopped them before they tarnished any of the prints.
"Something's not right, there's no way anybody from the islands has even gotten this far..."
Tidus stated what was thought to be the obvious.

Wakka breathed fresh air as he emerged into the "Rear Beach" of Dark island. It was a nice smell, even if they had only been in the cave for a little while. Actually, opening up this side of the cave last time they were here had helped air out that tunnel so it wasn't as bad either. Overall the second visit was much better than the first, save for the added baggage.
Wakka moved down closer to look at the water himself and knelt down, letting his center of gravity sink. 'It's too bad those rock walls are there,' he thought, referring to two cliff-like walls several meters high that encircled the beach, leaving only a small split opening between them through which the water came in. If it wasn't for that impediment people could just land their ships here instead of the much less appealing half of the island.
Wakka then heard Tidus calling them. Curious, the teen got up and went over to the expedition leader.

Selphie soon joined the two boys as Tidus called them over and with her eagerness she almost stepped on one of the footprints. Weird. "Bigfoot?" she giggled, they were big foot prints after all. Bigger than even Wakka or Tidus's. She knelt down and peered at the footprints.
"Yah think someone's beaten us here?" she asked. It would be a shame if someone had. W-what if they took the treasure they were looking for? It would be such a shame. But! What if they could get to it before whoever else was here could? Selphie noted that the footprints did not come back. So...whoever was here might still be here. "Looks as if..whoever is here, didn't come back this way."

"Good eye Navigator girl."
Though Selphie and Wakka had both really taken a good look around the island. The large stone walls which enclosed the island, really gave this place a dark feel. Almost like a prison, a prison which contained paradise. It was irony at it's finest, but despite the large structures one truth remained.
People were here, a duo of sorts. Of course it wasn't Big Foot, or so Tidus rationalized. However since the footprints didn't lead back, there was a chance that two people could really be in danger right now. Nevermind treasure, it was practically hero time!
"Well crew, change of plans. We'll follow these footprints and see if anyone needs help!"
Tidus declared and proceeded to follow them along the water side of the beach. He didn't want to tarnish them.

"Does that mean I can leave the shovels, Captain Tidus?" Wakka asked as a joke before hefting them both back into a more comfortable carrying position to follow the young man.
Wakka himself wasn't too worried, but neither did he think it wasn't best to check anyway. If someone was on the island they hadn't seen any boats on the other side. of course, just because they didn't see footprints didn't mean that no one had come back this way either. They could have kept to the water.
"Maybe someone at school found out about you getting the map and came here to see how far you got?" Wakka speculated aloud for the "crew" to contemplate. "We did get here pretty late. other kids could have come and gone by now."

"But, we can still try to find treasure right?" Selphie whined about the change of plans. She wanted to find treasure, wanted to find shiny stuff. She loved shiny stuff.
"I didn't hear any rumors or gossip at school," Selphie added in, looking towards where the footsteps were going towards. Into the island. She followed along side Tidus and the footsteps.

"Don't worry guys, we got this. We'll keep up our look for treasure. So don't get comfortable just yet, First Mate!" Tidus said that last part in a knowing tone, as if teasing him about carrying the shovels still. His response should please Selphie since she wanted to keep on the look out for treasure. Tidus just wanted to do it all! Though he wasn't sure about them being beaten. He didn't hear any rumours either and was sure the boy whom gave them the original map didn't share it.
"Still, we've got a mystery on our hands. Is it possible that somehow there's a way to get to Dark Isle by this side? I mean I know about the rock-like walls back there."
He jerked his thumb in the direction behind and then pointed ahead.
"However, the fact we can still see the ocean says something, y'know?"
