Tidus stood there, his expression clearly emitting an "Are you serious" look towards the old man. Clearly he had his doubts aboujt the kids. Selphie looked upset with being underestimated, Tidus would have been too but challenges didn't rile him up. Wakka figured as much and gave up on any chance of them not doing this. Yeah, Tidus' Adventure Senses were tingling. With Wakka's instruction, he nodded his head.
"You don't have to tell me twice."
He then took off across the white sands. His form swaying and swerving, instead of keeping a straight line. This showed he could minimize damage by keeping out of a targeted range. Once he got to the rocks, he took a jump step. His feet simply using a stone for leverage, before flipping in the air. He'd literally flip from rock to rock. Not just forward flips, but backwards too. He was able to easily traverse the island like a playground. This was all thanks to his Basic Parkour, but there was some more to it.
His final flip was behind a rather large rock. This placed the dirty blonde out of sight. He'd actually snuck off to the water in order to swim back. His next phase was to "sneak" up on the old man so to speak. His form re-emerging behind the docks as he crept over behind the crew.
"If you thought that was good, I'm even better in the water." Tidus responded, ending his sneaky tactics. His index finger wiped under his nose as he took on a proud posture.
"So how about it?"

The old man swore like only a sailor could, not caring if they heard or not. "...All this... is pointless iffn ye don't have any boats." Lektaw said stubbornly. "I'll help ye find th' Konger's lair on one condition. Ye listen to me and respect me orders! The lair is surrounded by a dangerous reef... one misstep and ye're boat will be holed in no time, and sinking to th' very bottom. Ye'll need as many boats as we can use... as I said before... th' damned monster sank me boat in three passes."

"Woo! Tidus." Selphie shouted in encouragement.
Selphie raised her hand up, placing only two fingers in the air. Giving the man a peace sign, a oh that's fine sign! "We've got boats!" she announced, eagerly. What had phased her earlier didn't seem so now. She had shown to have proven him wrong and her eagerly spunk began to become riled up again. They had five boats all-together, with Riku and Sora's boats..just in case they needed more than just their three.

"We've each got a boat. They aren't that big, but Selphie's pretty small ya? You can ride with her," Wakka added to the girl's proclamation. Only three of them had come here today. If three wasn't enough for the fisherman then Wakka was sure that they could get Sora and Riku in on the expedition by swinging back around home first. That would take precious time that their prey might use to escape or heal, though, so it would be better if they went straight after it now.
"Tidus, go on ahead and prepare them for launch. Me and Selphie will walk Mr. Yektaw over to the beach when he's ready," Wakka asked of the energetic young man before turning back to their elder. They would proceed down toward their landing point unless the man was still tired from his experience. "What else can you tell us about this Konger?"

He knew his skills impressed the old man. As stubborn as he was, thus he kept a grin as the old man spoke. He required respect and demanded authority over the situation. Tidus could roll with that, he was their elder. Multiple boats so that the creature couldn't cut them down as easily, Wakka and Selphie mentioned they had that covered. Yep, everything could be set in motion now. He nodded his head in Wakka's direction, acknowledging the request from the teen.
Moving on ahead, he proceeded to where the boats were kept. He'd make sure to get them all prepared and ready to sail out. His form just couldn't contain the excitement he possessed for this venture.
"Just watch me, Dad. I'll catch that fish no matter what."

"Th' beast is bigger than a man, an' the spikes on its back will poison ye." Yektaw explained, gesturing wildly with his arms. "It's absolutely vicious, an' has been stealin' most o' our fish fer days now. Its mouth is filled with the stained teeth, an' iffn it bites ye, ye may ne'er get your limb away from th' Konger."
He shook his head. "Th' damned thing couldn't see me boat, but fer some reason it knew where me position was at all times, as if it could smell me. It swims faster than a dog can run. An' it knows that reef it lives in inside an' out."

"How did you know that the fish..er Konger, couldn't see your boat?" Selphie asked, slowly walking besides the guy towards where Tidus had gone to get there boats ready. The thing did sound scary..and she did not want to loose any limbs today. Well, probably not any day.

"That's pretty scary, Mr. Yektaw," Wakka said, not actually sounding all that scared. "And you went after it all by yourself? Wow. You're one of the toughest guys I've ever seen."
Wakka seemed to be thinking now, pondering exactly what sort of crisis they were running headfirst into. A big part of him wanted to stop and say this was a bigger problem than they could have thought. This wasn't just some reckless childhood stunt to avoid telling your kids about some day anymore, it was real danger.
"How big is its mouth?" Wakka asked, trying to get a better mental picture of the monster.

With all boats prepared, Tidus felt his mind was mentally prepped for this. This fish sounded like a serious catch, he couldn't help but think about the risks a bit. It wasn't like his rep was at stake if he said "no". Rather, his life was at stake if he screwed up! There was things Tidus had to do in this world, championships to win, trophies to raise! Yes, this was that rare moment that Tidus had doubt in himself. His abilities, while impressive...were meant for sports and while fishing to some was a sport, this was more like a battle than an ordinary day at the water hole.
Thus the teen began to pace back and forth before catching eye of the others. He stopped, turning to face their direction. He flashed a smile and jerked his thumb in the direction of the boats.
"So, any leads on catching this guy? Like...weaknesses...or something?"
Know your enemy, that way you can plan an effective strategy. Yeah, Tidus knew basic game tactics...he was gonna win, he knew it!

Yektaw clearly decided to answer Wakka's question first. He raised his hands and spread them outwards. "Th' mouth were about this big, youngun." His hands spread apart vertically nearly two feet. Then he looked Selphie right in the eyes. "Th' eyes... oh, those horrible eyes..." He whispered, as if he was caught in the grip of madness. Then he shook himself.
"Right then. Ye need no bait to lure th' beast out after ye... it's vicious nature will do that itself. As fer weaknesses... iffn I knew that, th' creature would not have gotten me boat."

Selphie gulped as the ole man looked at her as he explained the eyes. She would take a mental note not to look the beast in thee eyes. "Perhaps, we could think of possible weaknesses? Try to think of things to lure it out, besides bait." she looked over at Tidus, "Hey, Tidus! Ya got the bait?" she screamed over at him, though they weren't really that far from him. It was completely unneeded but the young-dirty blonde thought it was necessary.

Wakka shook his head. He remembered now why he was agreeing with this. Tidus wouldn't back down and Selphie, though she was probably scared, wouldn't give up either as long as Tidus didn't. So then, he would just have to keep them all safe and get home alive. They all had family waiting for them, after all. Yektwa didn't say anything about how the fish knew where he was though... which probably meant he didn't know.
"Did you notice anything unusual about the fish while you were trying to catch it?" He asked, checking for any more clues that might save their lives. After asking he turned toward their boats again and added to Selphie's question. "Tidus, you've got the antidote in your boat too, right?"
Poisonous quills on a giant fish. Not exactly what the antidote in their first aid kit was meant for but Wakka was certainly glad they had it.

"Huh...bait?"
Tidus would shout back before thinking, his expression puzzled. "What kind of bait would I have, hmm..." He'd contemplate but Wakka brought up an interesting point.
"Yeah, we've got some! As for bait...if we can get some fish, that should be enough..."
Or so he hoped, cause more than likely...it was them who would be the bait. Still he'd head over to his boat, eager to get this over with. If he didn't go soon, nerves might just get the best of him.

"That's all I know about th' beast." Yektaw visibly sagged. "All ye can do now is go an' try to catch it. In me head lies the way through the reefs, that treacherous maze of rock an' sharp coral..." He stood back up, seemingly recovered from his ordeal, and in his eyes burned the light of determination... or of madness.
"Iffn ye are ready to brave th' wrath of th' Konger, we depart!" The old man shakily held forth a hand, pointing off into the sea.

Selphie guessed that getting some fish would be bait, since they would probably be smaller than the Kronger and probably most likely at other fish. And, hopefully didn't have too much of a taste for little children. Maybe it only liked old men! Selphie went towards the boat, "Sir, you'll be ridin' with me then," she called over to him, looking at her boat to see if Tidus had done his job right. It seemed so.
"Tidus, Wakka, which one of you wants to be the head of the group?" she asked, she would stick to the middle so that the man could give whoever was in the lead directions. "I'll be in the middle, should we go triangle formation?" she asked.
